Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Since when are health care workers going out and buying their masks at CVS, Walmart or Home Depot? 🥴
That’s not what they are saying. Several suppliers of N95 and droplet masks are selling for $300 a box in some areas because of made up panic. The suppliers in China who make them are obviously out and hospitals are conserving their supplies because of the lack of masks available. Then you have some housekeeping, low level techs and others stealing boxes to sell to idiots. Makes for an issue

My wife had a major surgery last year, bladder removed, they knicked her colon, feces got in her blood(I forget the name they call it). It was really bad at first, fever was constantly around 103 off and on for days. Admitted back into the hospital several times, then released and it would go right back up. One night right after leaving the ER, they got it to 100 and let her go, we got home and it spiked to 105 on our thermometer. She was having convulsions, I was scared to death cause we hadn't been home a couple of hours. Off topic, but I'd never seen anybody get a fever that high, or react that way. They've been fighting it for a year with antibiotics, even IV treatment. It's there, but thankfully hasn't caused nothing like that again so far. Sorry, off topic, the 105 just made me think of it.
I'm hoping that surgery was reviewed in some way and the surgeon was held responsible. It's called peritonitis and it's pretty serious.

Ok missed the part where it hit the blood system, so she had peritonitis and sepsis.

It appears the new outbreak is descended from the first US case also in the Seattle area, and community spread had been ongoing for 6 weeks. Who’d a thunk it?

This is about to blow up and get serious here. We are now seeing full on community spread with people that never traveled overseas or had close contact with other infected people. I’m curious to see how this virus does when the weather warms up here as we go into spring and how many fatalities we have here in the states compared to China already at one and counting and 8 in critical condition.

As of now the Covid-19 virus can possibly last on nonporous surfaces as long as 9 days. On porous surfaces such as cloth even less survivable. The short answer to this question is no. It takes 7-15 days to ship products from China often times much longer. This doesn’t count for how long a product sits at a shipping yard, a warehouse, how long it sits inside a specific store warehouse, and how long it sits in a back room or on the shelf before it’s bought. In general most viruses are extremely vulnerable outside of a warm biological host.

Thanks. I assumed that was probably the case.

Everyone hopes warmer weather will ameliorate it.

If my Italy trip were in March I'd cancel. I suppose we have a month to see what develops for mid May. But right now not looking good.

I'm no doctor but the way cases are seemingly popping up in random places must mean there's a lot more people infected but not showing symptoms.

The connections are there. Somebody hasn't done enough detective work to connect the dots. Not buying immaculate infection.

I get it. I was just responding to how what was written comes across when read and taken at face value.

Somebody needs to send the SG a proof reader or explain how to straight up say what you mean...lol
