Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

From yesterday's CDC release: It's unbelievable how some people are politicizing a respiratory infection from China. Might want to redirect your frustration. . . . Just absolute proof of TDS to the rest of us.

Two things:

1) Politics happens. I 100% agree that this isn't the time for petty partisan concerns, but one can also easily find dozens of stories trying to fry Obama on Ebola, which few remember now.

Ebola: Obama's Katrina

To date only one person has died of Ebola on U.S. soil, but the issue is not the size of outbreak. There is a continuing, growing, lack of confidence in public institutions of which Obama is Constitutionally, legally, and politically the leader. "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan" may be a footnote to the Obama legacy. It is likely that "Ebola" will be a chapter header.

2) Trump did, in plain fact, fire the US Pandemic Response Team. That looks like a clear mistake in hindsight.

Did Trump Fire the US Pandemic Response Team?

C: May everyone and all those they love stay healthy.

Drug companies might be more willing to stick their necks out in developing a solution if they were protected from lawyers. They know that despite their best efforts to develop a safe drug in minimal time, they will face lawsuits with damages that would potentially ruin them. One litigious person who claims harm can damage us all ... look no further than antivaxers. In today's legal climate vs a more realistic populace in the 50's, we'd still be in the midst of a polio epidemic.
The response to H1N1 flu was fantastic. A bunch of nuts were fussing about how dangerous the quickly-produced vaccine was, then... POOF! The epidemic was halted.

So first, people complain that Trump put Pence in charge. A man with "no experience in this type of stuff and with no medical background". Then shortly after, Azar says that Pence is on his team and that he is still in charge but has the #2 man in government working with him and people still complain? I mean this sounds like the best of both worlds, one man with an extensive background in the medical field and knowledge of this issue and the VP who brings huge amounts of government resources and eyes to the situation and people are still griping just because its Trump. It seems some of you would like to see America suffer if it made Trump look bad, but thats what I've come to expect from the democrats so I don't know why I'm surprised...

I know I feel safer with Pence "in charge" than I would if Obama put Biden in charge of anything at all ... even counting and sorting paperclips.

All correct. Everyone would very much prefer this get contained and handled quickly.

What I think irks those of us who do not care for Trump to begin with is his ego YET AGAIN interfering and causing him not to come to grips with reality. To in fact deny reality. Same with Russian interference in '16 election.

Dude, just embrace the truth. It will set you free.

Pretty sure the CDC has spent tens of millions on guns, ammo, and office furniture. Seems like an easy place to cut.

Always plenty to cut from government entities without impacting actual performance. The trick is to make sure those entities cut the nonessential stuff first. But there are greedy bureaucrats in place to make sure their sacred office furniture cows dont get cut.

Empire builders are always the worst. They thrive on finding novel ways to justify more and more because he with the biggest empire earns the most ... he has more to control and supervise. Conversely the guy who believes in lean and mean always is hit harder in terms of actually getting things done when inevitable across the board staffing or budget cuts roll around.

Religion based way of saying that once you get married be prepared for and embrace less frisky behavior as the norm???

I thought everybody already had that figured out somewhere during year two of their marriage 🤣

Yeah, apparently the Pence plan for downsizing marital sexual expectations. I guess it's intended to keep guys at home while minimizing violence in the household when faced with unsatisfied carnal lust and buyer's remorse. I'm not betting on the results - short of lobotomy (one way or the other) to relieve the symptoms.

The short answer is that he makes the country a dumber and more divisive place in which to live.
Now you know how a lot of us felt in the 8 years prior to November 8th, 2016.

Yet we didn't really think about it day to day the way a lot of you suffering from the TDS virus does.

I get being comfy at your desk, but who are all these folks getting ready to wage war on? It’s a jaw dropping and head scratching read...

67 non-military federal agencies spent $1.48 Billion on guns, ammo and military-style equipment from 2006-2014.

58 non-military federal agencies, including 40 regulatory & administrative agencies spent $158 Million on guns and ammo over FY 2015 and part of FY 2016.
