As long as we recognize and continually acknowledge exactly why the FF gave us the Bill of Rights in the first place.
They should always be viewed and interpreted through that prism.

They gave us the BOR to restrain the government and ensure it didn't infringe upon the freedoms we already possessed.

Maybe I missed something, but why is Trump getting criticised over the coronavirius? Seems like the CDC is on top of it, but I might have missed something.
Also, I'm not a fan of Trump at all, but I don't have a problem with him speaking about it tonight. He should, I mean he is the President after all.
There are plenty of things to critique Trump over, but this doesn't seem like one of them.

Well, in their own carefully chosen words, this is why they gave us the BOR.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

But why pay careful attention to their words?

I recommend that you pay attention to their words. Every word of that relates to individual liberty because without individual liberty none of what is mentioned can exist for any length of time.

No one brought up anyone's wallet. You were asked how your life has been negatively affected since Trump became President. Hurt feelings are not an answer!!

And I recommend that you pay careful attention to their words. Every word of that is spoken to the "we" with complete understanding and acknowledgement that individual liberties can only exist in a properly functioning society.

Our individual liberties have existed since the beginning of time, they have been trampled on by various governments and religious organizations over the centuries hence the reason our constitution has a BOR restraining our government from doing so. A society cannot function properly when it oppresses individual liberty and our FFs knew that.

I've been on several national standards groups writing standards. We always included as an introduction the reason for writing the standard, but the enforceable stuff ... the stuff that really defined what was required was in the document. The preamble is an introduction ... a very well crafted one, but still an introduction to the real document.
