Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Yes, I know this and I think those laws are completely unconstitutional. Now, would I lose in court? Most likely because our judiciary has pissed all over the constitution.
that's a fairer argument, but also in fairness, it's not like the government does this to millions of people.

You are talking about maybe a couple of hundred, all of whom are either mentally incapable of caring for themselves or actively/negligently trying to infect others.

A mass quarantine in the U.S. will never happen unless it is something a hell of a lot deadlier and quicker than Coronavirus

The one that was created specifically to
.... insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare?

I'm not the one so scared that I'm asking for the benevolent .gov to step in a protect me.
You are more terrified and paranoid of the "government" than I am of all other things combined. It controls your life.

The most ironic part of all is that Trump is the most likely of all to abuse the government in the ways in which you guys fear.

I'm not terrified of the .gov. For the most part it's a barely functioning collection of morons, there is nothing about it to be scared of.

I found it more humorous than anything. That's his go to when he's in an inescapable corner.
You would know about inescapable corners, since you verbally paint yourself into one constantly. This is your "go to"

That's so bizarre because you reach the most asinine of conclusions based solely on that fear.

What????????
The preamble is the very explanation of why the Bill of Rights was created in the first place.
Why do we have a Bill of Rights?
Read the preamble, they'll explain it to you.

Oh Luther, just when I thought... Never mind, I'll educate you AGAIN.

The preamble sets the stage for the Constitution (Archives.gov). It clearly communicates the intentions of the framers and the purpose of the document. The preamble is an introduction to the highest law of the land; it is not the law. It does not define government powers or individual rights.

Amazing. The preamble is a few words of introduction. Doubtless a classic, but it's still just a lead in. Maybe that's why you libs have a problem with the Constitution as law - you put the emphasis on the part that doesn't deal in specifics and doesn't actually set down requirements.

As discussed here numerous times, including this very thread:

Since the dawn of the Trump presidency, countless experts have warned that the president's lack of credibility would imperil the country in the event of an emergency.
With the worsening coronavirus outbreak, those fears may be coming true.

President Trump's political allies have made overly optimistic statements only to be contradicted by the government's top scientists and doctors. For example, Trump claimed on Monday that the coronavirus was "very much under control in the USA." A day later, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the virus' spread to the US was inevitable. He said the stock market is "starting to look very good" even as the Dow was nosediving amid coronavirus anxiety.

You Trumpsters who just pass off his constant lying as irrelevant and meaningless since things are going to so well in our 401ks may want to rethink that. At a lot of levels.

The thing that bothers me is how differently this is being treated than the flu. Things like this are going on:

UT cancels study abroad trips to South Korea over growing coronavirus concerns

Overreaction? Possibly, but damned if this isn't being viewed by just about everyone; governments, WHO, CDC, as something different.

2 reasons why it's being treated differently than the flu. 1. This is a brand new virus and we don't know much about it. We are learning more and more every day but that's it. 2. The fear isn't so much about the fatality of the virus as much as it is about how rapidly it spreads. How contagious it is.

Them stopping overseas study abroad is not an overreaction it's warranted and smart.

Love the butterfly net over the head. What becomes of the vehicle? Burn pile? Does that mean they burn the loan on the vehicle as well.

Leave the vehicle sitting untouched for 9 days and whatever virus particles that remain will die on their own. You could heat treat(pump approx. 130 degree air) the vehicle much like they do houses for bed bugs and it would kill the virus faster.

You have to love democrats. The President asks for $2.5B and Shumer says that's not enough, we want $8.5B.
Schumer announces $8.5 billion request for emergency coronavirus funding - CNNPolitics

The president should have asked for twice that but he doesn't have a clue what he is doing.

That's a big deal and is exactly the kind of mechanism for quick dispersal of the virus all over the map that has people so concerned.

That is why I said weeks ago we should have stopped non-essential international flights, especially from countries that are showing infections. Idiots are in control of this whole situation.

He is so damn stupid!

Then go ahead and start your plan. Stop waiting to be directed like a child.
I have everything I need. If there's idiots going out after being asked to stay home prolonging this infection and putting my family possibly in harms way I'm going to have a problem with that.
