Auburn bans student for Vescovi comment

If there are many more links, then why do you use some radical site to do it with?

If this offends the 5% of extreme evangelists that hate gays and think all doctors who perform abortion should be killed then I don't really care to hear it.

Like I said, I just grabbed one of the first links that came up on a quick Google search. I didn't analyze the background of the source. There are plenty of other articles. Hundreds of them.

Do you have a link to support that only 5% of extreme evangelists that hate gays and want abortionists murdered are the only Christians offended by OMG or are you just embarrassed by your own hypocrisy?

No I'm embarrassed that you not doing "background research" equates to not even reading the website title.

I thought you would at least get that far

This kid's being banned because it was picked up on a microphone, not because of the actual words he said. The school wants to protect their image and avoid any sort of PR problem this could create. I think, personally, a one year ban would have been understandable -- a bit of a "okay buddy, that's it, time to cool down for this season." A lifetime ban, I don't know. It's certainly their choice to make, but it's reactionary to me. I feel it outweighs the offense, such as it was.

I saw the website title right away. I clicked on it and the article seemed to explain why "My God" is offensive to some Christians. Maybe it's offensive to a LOT of Christians. I just find it odd that you are virtue signaling out of one side of your mouth while making derogatory comments about some other types of people.

Saying "My God" offends you? I have never heard anyone say that. You just making stuff up now?
Have to say it does offend me. If one can not use the name of God in a way of worship, it is using the Lord's name in vain. Just saying. I have nicely asked people at work to please refrain and it usually works. I dont make a big show of it and usually will attempt to take them to the side.

And I think it's funny that you are practically defending actions which are clearly wrong yet attacking me for making a comment that really no people find offensive and then in effort to defend that, post a link from some radical site then get called on that and chalk it up to you not doing research.

This whole thing is quite funny actually

Thanks, never heard of that. Maybe it's a regional or generational thing.

I don't see it that way at all nor will I stop saying it.

But if someone told me not to say it around them and were respectful about it I would consider it.

I appreciate your explanation.

Spin it however you want to. I merely pointed out that you said something offensive while virtue signaling about something that you are claiming to be offensive to say. You're the funny guy here.

It is not a regional or generational thing, it is a Bible thing. Exodus 20:7, Deuteronomy 5:11, Psalm 139:20, Proverbs 30:9, Leviticus 19:12. These are just a few. I think most thinking this means using Gods word as a cuss word, but it doesn't. Just has been accepted using His name other ways over the years. As for the young person screaming out what they did, not acceptable, but feel the punishment may be a little extreme. I say ban the rest of the year and a public apology to SV and feel that would go farther than a lifetime ban.

You are comparing clear apples to the most convoluted oranges you possibly can. But whatever makes you feel better.

I'm more offended that the refs can't call games consistently than some dumb Barn student to an opponent to go home. If he was my buddy I'd have punched him in the arm and said "shut up dumb f***" and moved on. BTW, is it offensive to call Auburn "Barn"?

As a 22 year old growing up in the same area as you live (Kingsport/Gray/Colonial Heights). I have never heard this and say this quite frequently.

Text "OMG" a lot which I guess is just as bad right? Again not trying to be mean just saying that people used to be killed for being atheists, I guess people use to get offended by "my God", just not the world we live in.

Being Christian to me is living to make the world a better place. Simple as that.

My God, hope he gets expelled. Ridiculous that he would think that's acceptable.

Also for those saying this is "Trash Talk," no it's not. It's racism plain and simple.

Saying "You Suck" or "We are going to destroy you" is trash talk. Invoking someone's heritage and telling them they need to leave the country is racism.
Not to some of these fools. They think he is being "patriotic"

He's from Uruguay. He told him to go home. He didn't call him a derogatory name. It's not worthy of the national outrage. You on the other hand are having your hypocrisy exposed on an anonymous message board. True, apples and oranges.

Stop embarrassing yourself already.

You literally said you did not research after trying to call me out.

You defended the guy saying Go back to your country, this is America.

Dude you are just not on your game today. Time to hang it up.

I am not judging or condemning what you do or say. All I am doing is showing you what the word of God says, not I. All I a can do is show people why I am offended, give the scripture showing why I am offended, and most of all, do it with love and not malice in my heart. Study God's word and pray over it. That's all I can ask you to do as I have suggested to others. Have a blessed day.
