2020 Presidential Race

Frankly, it was a bunch of Dems panicking knowing that we're pretty much doomed to another 4 more years of his orangeness.

Ironically, with all the rage over Pistol Pete and his surge in Iowa and NH, I did not see even a notable mention of him in this mornings after debate news articles. Other than his bickering with Warren. Didn't watch the debate. The Dem ticket is not interesting enough to me to even remember they had one. If the Dems want to entice me to flip, they need to bring back Gabbard and get on her mule train.

Where's your optimism.

Things are darkest before the dawn?
Every cloud has a silver lining?
When the breaks don't go your way, pour on more steam?
Sometimes you feel like a nut; sometimes you don't?

There's too much of an emphasis on ideological and moral purity in the party right now. If you've done or advocated for one thing that was slightly short of pure unadulterated wokeness, you're toast.

You lawyers are pessimistic by nature. Surely it isn't as bleak as you make it out to be.
You know how primaries go...candidates try to be the most attractive to the base and then race towards the center for the election.

I’ll bet money none of those on stage last night will be the nominee. Dems you are looking at a contested convention and Michelle or someone else as your nominee.
I have been saying that Hillary or Kerry might hop in at convention time. Don't know about Obama's husband.....uh wife. Nothing is impossible, but I don't know if they could talk her into it.

The party is fractured. The Bernie Bros are Bernie or bust. If there's a brokered convention and he doesn't get the nod, his folks sit out and we lose. If he does get the nod, we lose the swing States. I think it's that simple.

Evil, i wouldnt worry. You guys will get a marxist president eventually. Once that happens he'll do enough damage to the electorate process that the communist party will remain in power.

Let's make this more applicable than those platitudes...

You can't always get what you want. But sometimes you get what you need."

Foe Moe wid Trump.

Your party should have put a stop to Bernie and his followers last time. He is not a Democrat any longer-really never was. He is a pure socialist for everyone but himself. In the party’s race to the left, you are leaving behind the majority of the country. If you were not running against Trump, you would be lucky to win more than 5 states.

Funny fact about muchelle. Apparently she has some serious issues concerning citizen status and taxes. I read where that's why she didnt run.

She would jump at the opportunity to be the first female president. Deep down she’d love to tell Hillary to suck it.

Bernie is the likely nominee and he’s not running towards the center in the general election. And the chances of him being elected are pretty much zilch. So yeah it’s pretty bleak.

In summary:

Keep Hope Alive!!!

He was the one guy on the stage that shared more of Trump's despicable qualities than anyone else. If you want to run an "anti-Trump, he's the worst choice you can make
He is the most Trump like.
Anti-Trump would be best. Not-Trump is still acceptable.

I think this is a solid observation and not just about this election but the sensibilities of the Left at large. It's a real issue and if this continues the divide between even those who now would could consider themselves "moderately" Left, nevermind anything remotely Right, is going become even more pronounced.
