He’s hitting free agency to maximize his value and apparently the union is pushing him to do it since Trout didn’t. Not because he dislikes Boston.

I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’s not going to take the biggest bag - and I don’t know why the Red Sox wouldn’t offer it.

Or hell, for the return they’re getting, keep him til the trade deadline because that team is going to be in playoff contention all year.

I think you’re missing what I’m saying. The odds of him signing with Boston for 2021+ are the same whether he plays for Boston in 2020 or not. It is irresponsible not to trade him.
