VolQuest - Wanya Morris to miss spring after off-season surgery

Freshman All-American offensive tackle Wanna Morris is expected to miss Tennessee's spring practice after undergoing offseason surgery, sources tell Volquest.com.

Tennessee's starting left tackle had surgery last month on his hip and will have a lengthy rehab but is expected back for fall camp.

In most cases, I would rather have surgery on my hip rather than my knee. Since I do not know the details of the surgery, I would think he will be in good shape for Fall practice.

Hopefully there won't be any lingering effects and it corrects an issue that he's been dealing that we didn't know about. I would hate for it to be an off-season injury.

It could be something minor as I don't remember him coming off the field for anything other than leg injuries and maybe shoulder.

Sucks from a S&C standpoint.

Make him 6 inches wider and a few ticks faster while you're at it. lol

Looks like Calbert, Jamir Johnson, Akporoghene and if necessary Cade Mays can take over one of the OT spots opposite of Darnell Wright in the meantime.

We have good options available but ideally we get Wanya back at 110%!

No you wouldn’t , a hip is far more dynamic of a joint than a knee.
