'20 TX RB Zachary Evans

What’s the real reason UGA was willing to back off from Evans originally? It can’t be that he didn’t give his cell phone to his high school coach before a game. There has to be a lot more going on.
He’s had a TON of off field issues...I am not gonna throw him under bus but he’s gotten in some trouble on some of his visits and that has made its way around.

Is he a bad kid? Troubled home life? Or just a sense of entitlement being a hotshot HS athlete that grown men fawn over? What is the source of his trouble, in your opinion?

I don’t hiw
He’s a hoss and will be a 1000 yd rusher before he graduates from UT.

I don’t know how good hodge will be but he has nice bloodlines and he is a type of back we don’t have much of. He may have a window in short yardage that opens itself up to more opportunities to show himself to the staff to earn more. I wouldn’t say he will suck or be amazing. Best place at moment is sit in the middle and see what he becomes in a college strength program. RB is a position where a guy can be a nobody in recruiting g like Arian Foster and show up as a star.

You think he just needs some structure? Sometimes that’s enough for these guys to thrive.
Remains to be seen. Structure certainly won’t hurt but have a feeling Ill be fielding some calls if we get this kid to get him out of some predicament if you catch my drift. Worth the shot though IMO

I think alot of us wish we were in the position to help Tennessee Football like you are. But we aren’t, so thank you for all you do sir.

Prior to their official release, 247 article makes it pretty clear Evans won't be a final 247 5*. Nothing to do with talent, just all his "issues". Basically unable to trust him going forward.

But he's #11 composite rn. Odds are he'll be a composite 5* anyway imo.

I believe that he can stay out of trouble for 3 years.....sometimes a change in environment is good. Especially being in an environment that is more positive. However, sometimes you can take the person out of the bad environment, but you can't take the bad environment out of the person.

It did fall through...however it was due to a miscommunication/timing and not lack of wanting it to happen. Something is being worked on and I would say just look to see if he cancels UGA visit.

I think this is a good example for why rankings from recruiting services are dog@#$. What the f#@$ are they measuring? How good a player is? How good they'll be? What matters more, emotional maturity or their athletic ability? On the field production, or measurable from a paid camp or 7v7 tournament? It's all conflated, and their evaluations are all piggy-backing off of the evaluations of coaches anyways.

Scrolling through the profiles and seeing draft predictions for 17 year old kids who haven't played a snap of college ball...it's peak absurdity.

If this kid is supposedly making all of these headaches and you still have elite coaches trying to snag him, that's all you need to know about his talent.

If i'm being really honest, I like for our players to be ranked well, but I'm much more interested in getting ballers regardless of what the recruiting services think. They are making a living out of this, and it isn't always logical.
