Of course I have expectations for democrats and their voters. I expect them to pick the best candidate.possible, )certainly not a horrendously despicable human), run a good campaign, and vote.

What you and many others say comes across a little like this....
You take your kid on vacation to Hilton Head, it rains a lot, the waves are no good, and your kid says the vacation sux.
You say next time I'll give you a couple of choices and let you pick.
You give him the choices of Akron OH and Honolulu, you explain the pros and cons of both.
Your kid picks Akron, has a sh!tty time there, and blames you for not providing a better alternative choice saying "How bad must Honolulu be for me to have picked Akron over it?"
You're left thinking, what an idiot kid.

And honestly, it is pretty transparent. One of his supporters on here earlier said it was because he won the electoral college, but lost the popular vote. That is why he shifted so dramatically on the issue. But it isn't good optics to say that, so let's pretend the switch never happened.

He tweeted that 8 years ago. Then the electoral college made him president. You expect him to tweet his hate for it? Refuse the ordination? Resign? Give an executive order abolishing the EC?

Not any different than Hillary saying "believe all women" but not believing the women who accused Bill. We all know why, but she never came out and explained herself. Bad optics. Like I said, plenty of examples in politics.

I don't think anyone is expecting him to do anything. Maybe expecting his supporters to admit he's just as full of **** as the "lifetime politicians" they claimed he was so different from.

May be asking too much.

I personally think he's full of ish, and an immoral, crass blowhard that I could never vote for. I still don't understand the need to devote this much energy to grilling people about a tweet someone they never met made several years ago, especially when nearly every one of them have answered with a shrug of the shoulders and an "eh".

i guess whatever floats your boat.

Apologies for the delay, I'm getting roasted on Reddit right now. I don't expect anything from him. Just would be nice if there was some pointing out of the hypocrisy of Trump on this board from his more ardent supporters without resorting to Muh Hillary and Muh Obama arguments. As Mercy said, way too much to ask I suppose.
Anyways, I'm back to Reddit to get roasted by some Bernie Bros some more.

Many of your fellow left leaning posters wouldn't agree though. They'd make excuses for the politicians that share their political persuasions. Both sides do it.
