I’m with you
Is there some actual smoke with Graham coming? I keep scouring the net and the football board thinking there would be some hiring news soon.

As a fan it's nerve wracking but when you step back and look at it objectively, it's pretty impressive the way Pruitt takes his time with a hire. Everyone thought he was foundering with the offensive coordinator hire and then boom, there's Chaney. Oh wait we're getting Tee Martin too?

It seems like he doesn't kowtow to pressure of making a quick hire. I'm sure having the A.D. backing you up helps, but geez...throw us a pone of cornbread Pruitt!

Just VQ saying he’s the favorite

The only issue with this thinking is that Evans asked out of his LOI that he sent to Georgia. Doubt this is an elaborate scheme. If UGA lands him, it's because the kid reconsidered and commits to them again. The problem is whoever gets him has to hold their breath until he enrolls in school.

He didn’t ask out they let him out. Didn’t want him as early enrolle just used him to get ringo and Washington

What I don’t understand is that if we hire Graham, how does that necessarily help us with Evans? I might be missing something here, but if Graham and Evans have a good relationship why didn’t he commit to A&M?

Kirby is particularly slick with this. Not only what you mention “coaches needlessly chasing players,” but he also has recruits stringing other schools along with whom they have no intention of signing with. UF has been used in this regard a few times. A kid nobody in Gator Nation expects to sign, suddenly has a Florida/Georgia/other hat in front of them on commitment or signing day. So UF fans are like “he committed to UGa over Florida? We didn’t even know we were a possibility with him.” Not sure if UT has been used like that but I suppose it’s a pretty slick move by Kirby, although a little disingenuous. It puts out the impression that other schools are losing battles v UGA, even though the other teams may have stopped recruiting that prospect long ago.

Regarding Evans, I’m not even really certain how Florida started getting mentioned with Evans other than he apparently scheduled a visit for 1/31. So that leaked out, and while most thought he was always a long shot, I guess the idea of a visit meant that there was a small chance. So with that visit apparently canceled, the chances went from slim to none.

So it looks like Georgia is highly likely, with whomever he visits between now and signing day also being in the mix. Kid looks like a stud so someone will be getting a good one.

Speaking of, any word on how Gibbs is doing in school? Going to play WR instead of DB?

Pruitt likes him better at WR even though he plays both sides well and with us having raw talent at WR and not many known big time playmakers on that side of the ball I think that’s where he will start..Last spring coaches were raving about him at WR and Gibbs being a freak of a athlete.

Liked your work in the VQ chat Monday. Simonton got a lil smarmy but backtracked a tad on the Bailey recruitment by the podcast recording.
I don’t know why he wants to say Ga didn’t recruit bailey. It’s weird. Y’all know I’m not a liar, and I can say with 100% certainty they tried to get him to hold off on committing and visit them and they have been trying to flip him until he signed.
