lol charles barkley.. Zion would jump over charles and his pile of gambling debt without breaking a sweat
Damn Gritty
Not like this
Did Gritty punch a 13-year-old boy in the back? Philadelphia detectives are investigating.
Could be wrong, but it seems at this point that if Zion doesn't go on to have at least a near-HOF career, people will say he didn't live up to the hype. He needs to be a perennial All-Star to meet most expectations. To me, he seems to be the most hyped player since LeBron. He's nowhere near as hyped as LeBron was though.I am not 100 percent clear what the hypothetical best version of Zion that everyone's so excited about would even theoretically look like. I mean, he's built like Charles Barkley, but if you dropped Barkley in his prime into the NBA right now he wouldn't be a top 5 player. What else is Zion supposed to bring to the table?
Having spent a considerable amount of time over here the last few years, I can say they seem to be generating a ****ton of revenue for the UK through tourism. Certainly not claiming they are netting a profit, or even breaking even, but they’re not just the financial black hole that some people paint them as being. They also do a lot of work for charity.muh tradition.
The people pay them copious amounts of cheese to do nothing.
so glad we whooped their ass in the revolution
It's more the principle or the idea behind a "Royal Family" I personally find obnoxious. There's this family that gets all this stuff and the status they have...just because. The entire reason this country exists is because we said "F that," and I've always thought the fascination the United States in particular has with the British Royal Family is the epitome of irony. Sometimes I think Americans like to follow it more than the British do. No other country, other than the UK, seems to have that fascination.Having spent a considerable amount of time over here the last few years, I can say they seem to be generating a ****ton of revenue for the UK through tourism. I’ll definitely agree with you about this point. Harry and Meghan have obviously been all over the news the past couple weeks, but I have yet to actually talk to anyone who really cares about it whatsoever aside from some understandable handwringing over what kind of public funds they might receive even if they aren’t working members of the royal family. It's more the principle or the idea behind a "Royal Family" I personally find obnoxious. I agree that it's certainly not a financial black hole if you think of it simply in terms of revenue minus expenses. But think of it this way...who gets the revenue, and who pays the expenses? The British government in large part gets the revenue, plus establishments located in and around the touristy areas. The British taxpayer, not all of whom benefit from increased tourist revenue, pays the expenses. A lot of them are paying for something but don't really get anything for it.
If you made the wedding a part of the trip you took (i.e., you saw/did a bunch of other stuff besides that) I can see it. But if you flew over just for the wedding then came back, yes, totally stupid.I’ll definitely agree with you about this point. I remember a couple years ago that there were Americans who actually came over to London for the Royal Wedding. I’ll never understand that.
Maybe. IMO, there’s literally a million better things to do in this city than spend a full day going out to Windsor and fighting those crowds just in hope of catching a glimpse of the Royal couple. But to each their own, I guess. If you made the wedding a part of the trip you took (i.e., you saw/did a bunch of other stuff besides that) I can see it.
