There’s a good chance HB will get all the way through college with more SECCG appearances and less sexual assault allegations.

Grossman would never have a street named after him in UF, but Grossman has almost an identical career to Peyton. I would rather posters fawn over players like Price or QBs like Martin who won it all. What Manning achieved in the NFL is incredible and he it does nothing but help the Vols. But he was an average QB while here. Nobody can prove otherwise.

It's the old Trent Dilfer over Dan Marino argument. It's bovine feces of the highest order. When Manning graduated he was the SEC's all time leading passer. People will always try to debate cross contextual accomplishment. (often weighted, sometimes quite heavily, by bias) The HOF, collegiate as well as pro, is FULL of people that didn't play on championship teams. I mean, FFS sake, can you imagine if Peyton's dad had ever played on a team with any talent around him?

I hope Bailey is great, but geez he hasn't even won the starting position yet. Actually has not even been on the practice field.

You're looking at it through the wrong lens. Do you think Rex Grossman is a spectacular player? Would you name a street after Rex Grossman if he did what he accomplished at UF instead of UT? Grossman had 77 TDs in three years. Manning had 12 more with an additional year here. Manning has not earned what the program and vast majority of fans bequeath him.

It's a little early in bailey's career to be comparing to a hall of fame MVP, with all his records. Le's hope for the best and wait and see..............................

How many UT qbs threw 89 TDs then went on to be one of the best NFL players in history?

Rex Grossman was good, but not great.

Bailey appears to be legit but Manning level? That’s a very tall order, PM is a once in a decade kind of talent. I will be thrilled if can read a field and make 80% of the throws Manning did.

If Bailey can even just somewhat read the field, he’ll probably be starting. That’s something that JG hasn’t done at all while he’s been here.
