Crazy how much we jumped on Rivals from Bailey jumping 9 spots. We most recently slipped down to 11th, from 9th on ESD. Now we jump up 3 spots. But it looks like they do give blanket points for being a "6.1" (5 stah) rating...then additional points for your actual ranking, within tiers. I know Chatta has their system down pat and made a spreadsheet on how changes work, so maybe he has more insight on our jump. Wish they'd just make a calculator like 247's...

The jump also probably has to do with how dang close a group of teams are. We are actually closer in points to the #14 team than the team just 1 spot above us at 7th. The order within this tier (8-14) is materially insignificant, really. I'd expect a lot of jumbling with NSD. Which is why we really shouldn't fret if others jump us on NSD and we finish outside the top 10. It's a fun goalpost, but really arbitrary. Just recruiting within this tier with Oklahoma, Auburn, Michigan, Oregon, Penn St etc is fine for now, with our development. With a full season of success and not falling on our faces this year, the move upward in tiers with the big boys is imminent.

Meh seems like we are fully in it to me. We have enough factors going for us to pull it off.
