It’s 48 hours post op which is typically the worst. Swelling and stiffness on my right side and blood. Would like to eat normal food instead of eating soft foods. I want a bacon cheeseburger bad. It sucks but I’ve actually done well. Ibuprofen 800 coupled with a Tylenol 500 mg does the trick for 4 hours

I did the same (all 4). First 48 hours was tough and then developed a “dry socket” in lower left. Had to go back and have them promote some bleeding. Of course this was 40+ years ago so I am sure procedures have greatly improved.

Back a few years ago I had my tonsils taken out as an adult. I ate pudding and other soft foods like they were going out of style. My wife said that I was going to be the first person to ever gain weight after having a tonsillectomy.

I’m hoping and praying I don’t get that. Dr told me the first 4 days Is my greatest risk. I’m about 50 hours out right now.

Funny you say this. I recommend everyone get anything off their chest to the person that is driving them home BEFORE surgery. Apparently I told my wife that I am sick and tired of trying to impress her dad, that I want to whip her ex bf’s ass, and that I want her to quit her job. Wtf

Now’s the time to take on the ex-BF. You won’t feel anything and can blame it on the drugs. Drawback is you may not be capable of acually standing up at the moment and things may not go well
