Totally agree. Butch recruited the stars without a plan. No concept of how they fit together as a team or how he was going to use them. Player development was nonexistent. The only thing he proved was how great Josh Dobbs was by Josh covering up all of his failures.

Pruitt has a process. You can see it taking hold. As I've said before, he's fixed both the OL and the DL, at least from a talent and depth perspective. The secondary has talent, although I was a little disappointed at the 2020 class except for Lawrence, maybe Slaughter. LB needs depth but the 3 kids from Memphis will help that. The 3-4 requires a lot of depth at LB. We're still hunting for pass rushers. I've never been fond of the 3-4, I felt the defensive success of the 90's was that beastly four man DL that just overwhelmed the other team's OL, but I'm just a commenter on a message board.

The big holes are still WR, RB and learning if Bailey is everything they say he is. You know Pruitt sees the problem with the WRs based on his comments to the press about how recruits should want to come here. We may have gotten a couple of under the radar guys this year but that's not elite like LSU, Clemson and Ala$ama have. We're not Wide Receiver U right now. It really hurts to see Carl Pickens' son at UGA and Tee's son at Clemson.

Those young TEs need to grow up fast.

If Tee Hodge (230 and fast) can stay healthy he's going to help RB but I'm always wary of a player who keeps getting injured in HS. You just wonder how he's going to hold up in the SEC. Except for the poorly used Kamara, we haven't had an elite RB since Jamal Lewis. I'll be surprised if Pruitt's 2021 recruiting isn't heavy on pass rushers, WR and RB. The one thing that will help recruit the RBs is if that OL develops to the elite level. Time for Friend to step up.
I had no idea George Pickens was Carl's son....I see Carl has gotten into some trouble. Is he an actice VFL?

So? We're not starting at OSU's level either. Stabilizing and creating a solid foundation is absolutely a necessity for us right now.

My goodness, It's not like he rehired Larry Scott. He hired a very solid and proven OC that's not going to be gone next year.

If pruitt is a great hc it won’t matter when or what assistants we lose.

Once again, you're speaking like we're already built. The number of kids that list relationship as a reason for committing and losing a coach as a reason for looking around.
And you say it doesn't matter.
Ok, Hank...ok.

These new trends...

Yeah. That one. It was stupid then and it is more stupid now because we are letting our children repeat our mistakes.

UGa hired Todd Monken

It looks like it is for the OC role, but what is he doing with Coley? Sounds like a recipe for animosity and distrust among their coaching staff. Doesn't hurt my fellings because Monken is only a good not great OC to begin with.

Are you really saying that Tyler bray wasn’t taLented? Lol

Or Kyle orton, a guy who started 82 games in the nfl, 18000+ yds and 100+ tds?

Is sleegro take a new thing??
They are talented. You originally said Chaney needed a superior talent at qb. I would not call either a superior talent. We all get it though. You've never liked Chaney and yer qb takes are the reason the term hank take is so notorious.

Buy the regular jeans and then make the holes yourself. #ProblemSolved

Exactly. I was buying jeans for my 7 yr old grandson last week and he wanted some ripped jeans, and I obviously said no. I told him to just wait 2-3 weeks and he would have a pair because the reason we were out buying jeans is because he already had holes in all the pants his mom had bought him a couple of months ago.

Started tinkering around with some data now that the season is over. This is just a basic scatterplot of the Sagarin ratings from this year compared to last year. If a team is on the line, they basically are at about the same Sagarin ranking as they were last year. If they are above the line, they improved. If they are below the line, they got worse.

I labeled all of the SEC teams, and a few notable outliers. I use Sagarin because it factors in strength of schedule.

It's nice to be "above the line" for a change. If we hadn't dropped those first couple of games, we'd probably would have been between Navy and Baylor on the y-axis.
