As many of you know my mom is in the later stages of Alzheimer's. She's taken a turn for the worse in the last 3-4 weeks. She become lethargic and seems to be in a lot of pain. The hospice nurses think she has a urinary tract infection. She is also severely dehydrated. We've called an ambulance to transport her to the hospital. Please keep her and my family in your prayers if you do that sort of thing.

Sorry to hear this Invol. Can't think of any that is as stressful as what your going through watching your Mom getting worse and worse. I pray for strength for you and your dad and comfort for your mom.

gut punch. sorry man

The Clemson method (as much as I hate to utter that), but long-term consistency works over rotating "elite" mercenary coaches, in general. Even with umpteen #1 classes by Bama, they are beginning to reap what they have sown with these mercenary staffs and starting to see some drop off.

I guess one could counter with Brady and LSU, but I would take something built to last over the next decade over a one year SHOT (most shots will not be as successful, they are the exception).
I mean bama has been dominate for a decade and their staff is a revolving door. It’s not like they are just gonna disappear. They will be 1 or 2 in the West next year.

Also - I’m not being picky. Even if it is a shot, which is ok to go for too, ill gladly take a title even it meant 0-12 the next year.

Yeah, mercenary only works that well if the talent is already there. And as good as Brady is, took a Burrow also.

Think many of us fans underestimate the job to be done here. We didn't just slip for a couple years. The most eye opening time for me was when rivals stopped making fun and started sympathizing. It doesn't get much worse.

But I honestly believe Pruitt has a true plan to build this thing back.

Been a little more involved there than a few coaches, imo.

But regardless, what's happened at Bama has never been done before or since.. never, never, never.
Always gives me a little laugh when someone just throws them out as "an example".

Oh I won't disagree with Alabama continuing to succeed, only that they could be doing it a better way. Clemson has done more with less. And I see CJP trying to follow that model.

But when I see Bama, with tons of #1 classes, starting to fall behind a program with "merely" top 10 or 15 classes, but a ton of continuity at the assistant positions (both have elite HCs), I start to question the way Bama is handling their staff.

Imo, a "shot" is relative and maybe not even that valuable. What if we could get Andy Reid as OC for a 1 year shot, but would have a mess on our hands later? Odds are we don't have a Burrow on the roster, a Biletnikoff winner at wr, etc. I wouldn't bet on a 1 year shakeup for a great OC over long term stability with a very solid one. And we are not in LSU's situation, because their offense was absolutely in dire straits (10 points in 3 years vs Alabama...)...and stuck in the 1980s.

Prayers InVol. I can't stomach thinking about my mom and being in your shoes, although I know it will come one day. Prayers for you and yours.

If OLine and DLine turn out to be the strengths they could be next year, I think his plan is working well. What if he isn't complacent and satisfied with incremental steps to getting better? What if CJP wants to win every game so bad he will do anything he can think of to win every game next year?

Let's run this thing.

I have no doubt that he does, haha. But no matter when it happens, I think he's working on sustained, not just a flash.
Believe he's truly *building a program* not just a team.

Will never understand the boner some posters get from going after AV. Who has the bright idea that attacking a guy who gives tickets to veterans and helps out sick children is going to be popular? So damn stupid.
I will never get it, either. The fact that it makes no sense does not seem to phase the trolls at all.

Joe Burrow had 3 times as many passing TDs as all of our QBs.
*I'm sure you're saying this just as "Dang Burrow is good"*

This applies to every SEC team, except Bama, UF, UGA, A&M. Burrow is just that good.

We were 7th in the conference in passing TDs. 13th in rushing TDs. Imagine which gets 90% of the blame on here?

I figure it’s jealousy. They know he’s connected and set up and are trying to convince themselves he’s not what they wish they could be. Most probably not saying all. I sure some are just a holes that want everyone to be as miserable as themselves. Just a guess. 🤷‍♂️

Them clouds were asking for it, old man!! 😛

Seriously tho, I've just never cared one way or the other except seeing body parts/underwear. Don't want to see crack with the baggy pants and don't want spandex being the only thing between me and "oh that's nasty".

Did you skip the 90’s too? I don’t wear them but it’s just a fashion statement that goes in cycles... crusty old man.

It’s not easy to defend. He just needs a QB with superior talent to execute it to his liking. When he doesn’t have one it looks like last year or Cromptons offense when we ran it 40 times a game.
Of all the incredible offenses Chaney has coached, name 1 qb with superior talent other than brees.
