I'll separate them but still agree. I know OB79 is a cop and I agree with his take on the locker room, the security guard went overboard. With both the cigar and not pulling on to the side, instead.

But the megaphone would have gotten most of arrested. Removed from the premises at the very least.
I agree the cop should have gotten out of the way and let them have their fun. But, if you or I would have slapped that cops backside, we'd be on the ground in cuffs and maybe tazed.

Only one of those situations has anything to do with the actual security guard at hand.

The one that had absolutely no business doing what he was doing or acting the way he was acting. He was harassing LSU players and he got embarrassed that he became a joke.
OBJ is annoying af, tired of hearing about that clown.

I don’t think anyone’s elated that we’re struggling. And I think most people recognize that Barnes’ recruiting and roster management are at least somewhat responsible.

But what are you gonna do? He’s in year 1 of a huge new contract. Everyone can see that next year’s roster is going to be really good, or even great. And it looks like we’re going to land a lot of big fish in recruiting for at least the foreseeable future.

With all that said, are we supposed to want him fired? Should we stop going to games? Or maybe you want us to be really, really mad at him? You’ve made several posts about your dissatisfaction, but what would you like to see done about it?

Personally, I just don’t see any point to whinging about it under the circumstances. I’m going to hope this team improves enough to sneak in to the tourney, and then get excited about the potential of 2020-2021 for football and basketball.

Oh there’s nothing you can do or should do. I’m in no way saying we should fire Barnes or anything like that. But i do think it’s ok to question this year. As long as we’re making the tournament every year I’m pleased. Anything above that is cake.

The whole fad of the jeans with gigantic holes and rips is about the stupidest thing. I can't stand it and my daughter loves her ripped/holey jeans. The look says, "I can't afford decent clothes, so I have to wear rags", but the ripped jeans cost more than jeans without the unsightly holes. Stupid friggin kids and their stupid friggin stupid fads. I can't wait for this one to git.

Them clouds were asking for it, old man!! 😛

Seriously tho, I've just never cared one way or the other except seeing body parts/underwear. Don't want to see crack with the baggy pants and don't want spandex being the only thing between me and "oh that's nasty".

What did he have absolutely no business doing exactly Hank?

1. I highly doubt the superdome permits smoking in the facility, especially locker rooms
2. if the assumption was it was marijuana that's still a banned/illegal drug in Louisiana last I checked

Now...OBJ he on the other had really did have absolutely no business doing what -he- did.

I think the security guard is being petty about it but it's not complicated, ya don't put your hands on security guards or police officers.

Did you skip the 90’s too? I don’t wear them but it’s just a fashion statement that goes in cycles... crusty old man.

Is it really too much to ask to make the tournament every year when you’re a top 5 paid coach in the country, at a school that provides you with every resource you could imagine, and that school just so happens to be in the ACC (football) of basketball conferences?

At this point in the program's history - yes it is.

You are leaving out that due to a weenie roast we lost the best modern day coach in UT history, which the AA would have laughed at and ignored had it happened at the blue bloods. UT/Pearl was a threat to the blue bloods and everybody knew it. Then we hired garbage to replace him that gets canned, while Pearl goes to ESPN to rebuild his brand before joining a conference competitor that hires him and turns them into a powerhouse from nothing - like we were before he arrived.

Program history is being ignored. You don't get the elite players until you prove you can do it even when you have proved it in the past because the elite players can leave the program after one season and go pro. Barnes proved he could do it and has that top three class coming in next season. He made lemonade out lemons - guys that none of the elite programs wanted. The only mistake was not having a true PG to step in this one season transition period. He miscalculated on Bone leaving. He gets a pass. If Bone had stayed he most likely would have been a top 15 pick instead of the back of the second round last year.

We also don't know if the cop was following orders. He may have been told by a supervisor to warn them that smoking was prohibited. He might have been doing his job.

Not a big BB fan but from where I'm sitting, it's funny watching people explain how Coach O and LSU will take a big step back next year because of losing so much and "that's ok".

But Barnes and TN....
Barnes choked in the tourney with the best team we’ve had in years, then had no answer for this year. Coach O went undefeated and won the title. If Barnes won the title nobody would care about a rebuild. The problem is we are rebuilding by completely skipping a year, then hoping these 3 kids are as good as advertised next year.

And y’all acting like LSU is going to be lucky to make a bowl game? LSU hasn’t won less than 8 games In forever.

LSU like any other team has their own police offers in their locker room and with their team. Most security guards don’t even have credentialed access to a teams locker room. Just like hired security or kpd officers don’t go into our visitors locker room when bama is lighting up when Neyland is clearly a smoke free stadium.

Kinda funny he’s the only security officer that was seen in there or trying to harass LSU players. If something was really going on or it was his assignment to “patrol” the locker room... i highly doubt he would be the only person assigned to that area.

Barnes choked last year? I'll let those that follow more closely reply but it was my understanding that we weren't even expected to be there.

I like you too gilly. I just look at it like i do in football. We’re a top program in both sports when it comes to resources and power. We should virtually never miss a bowl or miss a tourney.

Already said how I feel, and I stand on it. I don't give a half constipated crap what Barnes makes or any of the other nonsense you are spewing. Somehow we have had all this money and resources for these freakin years and nobody besides Bruce the BBQer has come close to equaling the team he put on the floor. And Bruce was a crooked piece of whited out dog isht that got the program in trouble doing what he did...so literally no one...ever has done what Barnes has, how he has...period.
