Also Ron’s post earlier has me irate and I can’t help but think of Dooley trying to recruit Derrick Henry. We were in the top three for a long time! Then Pruitt slams the door shut.

This is absolutely true but many people denied it year after year. Only in retrospect can most fans finally accept the reality of what got us here.

With Fulmer in place I’m not concerned it will happen for the time being, but whenever he is replaced everyone needs to be on watch and ready to call out such nonsense.

If someone were to go back and look at my posts from the Scout boards from when Hamilton took over, you will find that I was not a Hamilton fan. When he took over, he started by squeezing the students through fees and shrinking the student section, and then he went after the longtime season ticket holders. That dude made it his mission to squeeze as much money out of the fanbase as possible.

That dude was the personification of “The Big Orange Screw.”

I’m worried that Fulmer is only a short term fix. Whenever he retires, I do not trust who they’ll want to bring in to replace him. Especially if they let Jimmy be the deciding factor. Beyond maddening to me why the “powers that be” allow Haslam to dictate things up there. He was overthrown when Fulmer was placed in the AD’s chair, and I can almost guarantee he’ll be wanting to regain the upper hand going forward.

Good news is that there are tons of players out there like Higgins, Ettiene, Rodgers and Lawrence whom these mistakes will not be made for.

We certainly missed out on a special run

I look at it as a positive. We basically sacrificed all them players mention above to make sure we didn’t get a full decade of Butch Jones.

Fulmer knows this and will appoint his own successor, IMO. He just needs to stay in power long enough for the admins to realize that a winning program is beneficial and worth the money.

Owner is the most important position in professional sports. The ones that put up the money and support for the most part are successful over the long haul.

What do you think think JH was doing for the Vols?

Along with that money, came control and his control lead to disaster for the Vols.

Fortunately for the Vols, JH’s days of controlling the UTAD are over with Fulmer’s appointment to the position.

Still worrisome just because that evidence has existed for decades. And has been met with a resounding "nuh uh".

When was the last time the MVP wasn't FIRST TEAM all pro

fyp

Also the ALL-PRO team voting system is garbage and stupid. What on earth does that have to do with MVP?

Henry won the rushing title in the regular season, also lead the league in rushing TDs. Through 2 road playoff games he's averaging 188.5 yards a game...

It will have to be someone that is strong and won’t get corrupted by the Haslam money. That’s where Hamilton went wrong, he took their massive donations and felt obligated to listen to them.
