The important thing to remember is we're seeing a lotta growth from @Sleegro with his gambling addiction, just a few months ago he'd put his life savings on a punter being a first rounder for the first time since Steve Little was taken 15th in '78 by the Cardinals.
Not gonna lie. I am very confident he's not gonna be a first rounder. But I still wanted to take the bet.

Rewatched the Indiana game last night and eh.

Not trying to take a bear on the optimism, just have to see a little more production to go with the potential.
Along with what ever miracle at QB, we need better push for the run game, Gray to play like that all of the time, receivers to get more seperation and don't even want to discuss redzone efficiency. Not to mention the key intangibles we're losing, like JJ.

All possibly DOABLE, but it's not a small list.
you're not wrong. especially the red zone efficiency. if i had to pick one thing that has to get better (and it goes right along with the much needed improvement at QB, they go hand in hand) it'd be that.

honestly, here's how i've seen progression the past 2 years. in 2018 we had questions everywhere....OL, QB and WR. in 2019, we expected all that to get better. well, the OL and WR did get better. the QB and Run game were.....well, what they were, but i'd say the run game was at least good enough that we could keep doing it. that wasn't the case in 2018.

so this year....new WR, but talent there...and QB....

i mean, it's all about the QB to me on the offensive side of the ball. and i just can't get myeslf to believe that it's not gonna get better in year 2 of Jim CHaney with 3 returning QB's and a freshman that could probably start at 75% of the P5 right now.

all that said.

Odd that someone named "shoney" is promoting a Waffle House fight. Seems like a conflict of interest.
Hey if two people want to fight about about a punter getting drafted in the 1st round, I say go for it. I know you all are messing with each other. Conflict is entertaining, unless it's coming from my wife.

Agree but it was even more about after he got the ball. Was several "coulda gone either way" games that he, and even Calloway made the difference. The kind of thing you can't just bank/rely on happening.

No doubt the coaches have a plan for every item I mentioned but it's still a lot to need all of them to fall your way. I think we'll be good, just not up with the run at the East talk, personally.

2. Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE.

Yeah, definitely not apologizing for how we won but can't downplay the extra factor we're losing either.

QB is by far a more important position but Calloway's incredible catches and the dawg factor is a miniature version of losing things Dobbs masked. Without those 2, we NEED the ball to go to someone at/ahead of the marker and placement has to be more catchable to the average receiver.

I'm also going to say this...and most of you will probably say I'm crazy.

By no means am I discrediting the seniors leaving either. But at least on paper I think the WR group in 2020 might end up with better numbers.

WRs as a unit had 138 receptions for 2322 yards (16.8 YPC) and 17 TDs. Callaway/Jennings accounted for 89 receptions 1604 yards & 14 TDs. You return Palmer who was 2nd in receptions on the team, having 4 more than Callaway. You also return Johnson who had a great sophomore year with Jennings out.

You add in Gibbs who has a year in the system, you also add in Jones who Tee coached up for 3 seasons at USC, you bring in the incoming freshman who all have one thing in common SPEED and you also have good young guys who got quality reps last season in Keyton/Tillman.

I don't know if any one WR next year breaks out to have a JJ type season, but I could definitely see the WRs catching more than 138 balls for 2322 yards and 17 TDs.

All we need is a QB to hit them in stride. 👀

Waffle House is the ONLY VN sanctioned fighting place. It's in the by-laws.
I know but that's mainly for night fights, maybe Shoney's for morning fights. Someone should do a poll. I will abide by the results of the populace on this site, that's my policy.
