The Atlanta Braves

I feel more or less the same way about Walton and Vitale: I enjoy their broadcasting as long as it's a game that I really don't care about at all, whereas I usually detest them both if it's a game I'm actually trying to watch and care about. Walton because he goes off on long tangents irrelevant to the game at hand and Vitale because he's usually got John Calipari's balls stuffed in his mouth.

Cultural disconnect is a good way to put it for sure lol
He might not be as much of a cultural disconnect as you'd think. Leach isn't a southerner, but he's originally from and has spent his entire life in areas off the beaten path (grew up in Wyoming, has been a HC in Lubbock, TX and Pullman, WA). Also spent time at Valdosta St, Kentucky, and Oklahoma. He's probably too quirky for Starkville, but part of his shtick is also being in something of an overlooked, underdog role that people underestimate. That fits Miss St pretty well. He's certainly a better fit culturally than Joe Moorhead.

He also contrasts quite nicely with Lane and Ole Miss, which of course is the hoity toity, cool kid crowd.

True.
