To hear the coaches in the NFL talk about it, that is basically what they already do these days.
The only possible reason for him to come back would be if he and his family had decided against him pursuing a career in the NFL for health reasons. Something like "UT is willing to structure their entire practice routine around Trey's health in a way that wouldn't be possible in the NFL, and so the long-term prognosis of a pro career is far riskier than the limited, closely managed contact he's getting in college. Therefore Trey's family has decided that the best thing for his future is for him to finish his education at UT, hopefully play through one more season, and then move on to life after football."
That's not what I expect to happen but that's the only way coming back makes any sense at all. He should go get paid. But it is difficult to imagine that an NFL team would be willing to let him go zero-contact during practice in the way he's been able to at UT.
AgreeHe’s coming back. He wouldn’t hype a press conference to announce he’s leaving. Plus, it’s a press conference for an offensive lineman. I love Trey as much as the next guy, but he’s still an offensive lineman. This is essentially a publicity stunt for the continued positive direction of the program IMO
No nonsense is a good way to put it. Remember when he beat the piss outta an Auburn(?) commit at a camp for stealing his headphones? Knew right then.I guess I’m an idiot, I didn’t realize Trey lost his mother in high school.
I also gotta say, that dude is no nonsense. Not sure I’ve heard a college athlete like him be so direct and simple with his answers.
Mike Leach to Mississippi State is perfect. Nobody loves 8 win seasons more
