Shoulda woulda coulda again, you have no way of knowing that we should have went 10-3. With better QB play maybe but we didn't get good QB play from BM or JT at all, actually it was borderline terrible from the two so I don't think that you can make the claim that we would have gone 10-3 with the backups, especially with those being the 1st 2 games of the year.I will say this. Had JG came out threw for 300+ yards and a few TD's and we beat Indiana in a blowout, I could see no issue with Pruitt saying he is the starter going into the offseason and next season.
However with the current result, I don't see how Pruitt goes into the offseason with anyone as the favorite.
This is his 3rd year coming up. We finished 8-5 in year 2 when it should have been 10-3 most likely. Year 3 has to be 8-4 at minimum. Not sure how he plays a graduating player who has always been lackluster in his career and not give the younger guys who have 2-3 years of playing left.
Worst thing for Pruitt's job is to go 7-5/6-6 with JG and we roll into 2021 with Bailey or even Maurer not having significant playing time in 2020......
Pruitt is smart enough to realize this too
