The Atlanta Braves

So, if I’m understanding correctly, Cade Mays is looking to transfer out of Georgia due to a personal injury lawsuit filed by his father against the university over a pinky amputation that happened over two years ago?

Lawsuit is being used as a tool to get the hardship waiver.

My guess at the Braves opening day roster

C: D’Arnuad/Flowers
IF: Freeman, Albies, Swanson, Donaldson, Camargo, Culberson
OF: Acuna, Inciarte, Markakis, Duvall, Joyce

SP: Soroka, Fried, Hamels, Folty, Wright
RP: Newcomb, O’Day, Martin, Melancon, Greene, Smith, Jackson, Minter

but will you pick them to miss the playoffs again

but will you pick them to miss the playoffs again

This year probably not. Improved bullpen, more consistent starting pitching. And knowing Donaldson is fully recovered from his leg injuries, I feel better this year and last year.

I wonder what a healthy Dansby could do for us next year. His hard hit percentage and barrels were really good and he started going oppo. Probably just blind faith but I still think there’s a 110-115 OPS+ guy in there.

I doubt he is a 110-115 over the course of a full season ever, we just need him to be a 100 to 105.

He’s chillin’ at the Duke @ Georgia Tech game tonight.

Trey announces he’s coming back and our oline opens up gaps that would bring a tear to Moses’s eye

The only possible reason for him to come back would be if he and his family had decided against him pursuing a career in the NFL for health reasons. Something like "UT is willing to structure their entire practice routine around Trey's health in a way that wouldn't be possible in the NFL, and so the long-term prognosis of a pro career is far riskier than the limited, closely managed contact he's getting in college. Therefore Trey's family has decided that the best thing for his future is for him to finish his education at UT, hopefully play through one more season, and then move on to life after football."

That's not what I expect to happen but that's the only way coming back makes any sense at all. He should go get paid. But it is difficult to imagine that an NFL team would be willing to let him go zero-contact during practice in the way he's been able to at UT.

To hear the coaches in the NFL talk about it, that is basically what they already do these days.
