To adjust some for offense:

2016 still very poor, though not quite as much. 2019 still very good.

One interesting note is we were only 68th on 3rd down defense this year (39% allowed). In 2015, when we were 2nd, we only allowed 27%. We were so good this year at beating our opponents play for play, which has been a rarity over the last decade. If we can nail down situational football (3rd downs and RZ play) this team has so much potential. Another reason getting back to those extra bowl practices were so dang important.

It’s all the above. He got some good players, he didn’t develop players worth a crap, and he also took some 4 stars nobody else wanted and they ended up not being any good

Shamburger, Bennett, Butler, Calbert, and Bumphis (and maybe even Johnson) from the 2017 class are going to turn out to be contributors. That class was not very good in the secondary. But even take out the 2017 class, and he recruited well enough to succeed at UT. It just came down to developing who he got.

No thank you. Tua just hasn't shown any sort of ability to stay healthy, and the injuries he has already had aren't exactly simply things to recover from. I get that these shorter QBs are doing pretty good in the NFL, but I still would rather have a 6'3"-6'5" type.

Titans just need to restock that defense and try to add another weapon (beast TE for example).
