I find trading is similar to poker in the old adage, "poker is 100% luck through 1 hand, poker is 100% skill through a lifetime". Variance ruins and rewards all.Standard deviation of individual trade results (expressed as multiples of R) divided by system expectancy. Developed by Van Tharp. Higher is better. Greater than 2 is decent, greater than 3 on really good, greater than 4 is grail. It is a similar concept to Sharpe.
Newbs curve fit systems and then get wiped. Real traders know their edge, expectancy, and SQN and can be consistently profitable.
Trading isn't gambling, but neither is it investing.
Sorry, but wouldn't price action be TA? Not fundamentals?I do have a mentor. He’s been amazing. I’m a price action/fundamentals trader while keeping the news in front of men I don’t get into technical analysis except to confirm what I see. I have very tight stop losses with a focus on pip growth more than just a % of growth.
Trey is arguably the best OLmen we’ve had here. Use a better word than solid.
