They missed the playoffs without Brady that year. Also not sure why that one year takes precedence over the other 5 where bill was awful without Brady.

Also If you’re using that reason to crown manning then sounds like you’re with me on the Lebron goat train since the cavs went to sh** twice when he left as well as the heat. Bulls won one less game and swept a playoff series when Jordan bailed on his team.

Welcome aboard friend. The water is fine!!!!
They missed the playoffs, but won 11 games that year with Matt Cassel. To me this hurts the Brady debate.

Marino was unreal. I mean Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers and Mahommes have had some monster statistical seasons. But imo, Marino’s 1984 season ranks as the best.

If Montana and Marino played under today’s rules, it’s no telling what kind of stats and records would be set.
I am 60 so I have watched many great QB's over the years and it is impossible to say who is the GOAT. I would have been interested to see the numbers guys like YA Tittle, Unitas, whom I watched play a lot, and Sammy Baugh could have put up under today's rules. And let's not forget, many of them played when the reg. season was 12 games and not 16. But from a pure arm talent go back and pull up some highlights of Bert Jones when he was with the Colts. He had a cannon and their offense was fun to watch while he was there

I know everyone is super excited for Bailey, and I've carried a lot of water for and defended JG this year, but don't count out Maurer. He's got the physical tools to be elite, and great instincts and running ability. If Chaney can cut out some of the bad decision making, and he gets another year with the strength staff.. Might be your game 1 starter next year.
Before it's all over with we may need every quarterback on the roster. JG was benched because of poor play, Mauer missed games due to concussion, Bailey Miss time in high school because of two collarbone injuries I think and he'll was injured at Maryland also.

Like a couple others I was around for the Montana and Marino years. My heart was broken as a now reformed Bengal fan when Montana to Taylor happened. Marino was just plain awesome, but had similar issues as Peyton did in Indy with the supporting cast being mediocre for the most part. As an even younger guy I saw Unitas and fellow HOF member Sonny Jurgensen. Many forget SJ was at the top in the 60's with both the Skins and Eagles.

The point of all that is there is no one GOAT. There are numerous GOAT's depending on the era.
