You have to have 3 underneath. One on each side and one in the middle. They are trying to beat it with a 2-1-2 set instead of a 1-3-1. Put 3 guys in a line at half court

What are your impressions of Pruitt from a defensive perspective? He’s obviously good but how good do you think he really is? Top 5 in CFB?

He’s definitely one of the best for sure. It’s hard to judge and compare Bc there’s some excellent coaches out there that just don’t have the bullets

We always talk about how if Pruitt gets us to where we want then be worried about him leaving for Alabama but to me i would be more worried about NFL. Pruitts style of defense is one that i would want to run in the nfl more so in college even. It’s really aggressive and is going to give up some points and some big plays but also get a lot of sacks and turnovers. When you pair that style with elite players, it could carry a team. Pruitt and Vic Fangio have a lot of similarities schematically and Vic had the broncos playing really well down the stretch especially when Locke started playing.

Imagine if the Pruitt was running the bears defense with Eddie Jackson, Mack, Floyd, smith etc.

Right. The NCAA is toothless and incompetent. If you play hard ball they give up unless you're foolish/reckless or just cave at some point.
