I would tend to agree, but those quick huddles and snaps are meant to catch a defense off-guard. A play is normally run. But, in this instant, I wondered if they were trying to act like a quick snap but trying to force the DL to jump.

I'm not totally sure, but I am not convinced that we were running a play.

Boy I hope we weren’t running a play.


I’d say running a play gave Indiana a 10-20% chance to win the game

Punting it moved it down to 1-10% depending on the punt

The entire string of posts (from MULTIPLE posters) was centered around a generic discussion of development vs recruiting.

That’s just a fact. Sorry if you can’t grasp it.

Unless it worked...then it’s genius. Same thing with going for it instead of taking the points at the beginning of the game. Remember Butch taking heat for not going for the TD against Oklahoma on the 1. It’s always about what you didn’t do. Except in this case when it’s uncertain what they were going to do and we’re revisionist second guessing.

I think it’s clear the best chance for Indiana to have won at that point was for us to go got it and not make it.

Punting them deep was going to be very difficult for them to drive the field in such a short time

Converting the 4th down either by getting the yard or drawing them offsides 100% wins the game. Guess we’ll never know what you’re fretting over. 😔
