Man Ainge really carrying water for JG this morning. Says he's fixable.

Someone just called in Basilio hot that JG wasn’t getting enough love, then went to bat for him saying Bailey won’t be better because he plays on a team of All-Stars. I cannot imagine dying on a hill for JG. Any other era of TN football that guy would not even get a start.

Was it Ainge

How soon do we hear about any players leaving early for the nfl?

Players?

The only Junior who really has a shot at getting drafted is Trey. I would imagine he will make an announcement in the next couple of weeks.

You may see some hit the portal though. My guess Shrout or Maurer will be gone and maybe 1-2 others.

Hilarious does that person realize every player on an SEC team was that “all star” in HS?

No kidding. Osovet may be a hell of a college coach one day. He could be a complete dud. The program still isn’t in good enough shape yet to make that kind of risky hire.
They’ve had 2 years to evaluate him and they know what his work ethic looks like and how he interacts with the players.

You also risk losing him to another program if you don’t make the move eventually and then 2 years from now there will be tweets asking how the Vols could let this guy go.

Graham seems unlikely.
McClendon has a sweet deal at USCe.
Frank Wilson will have multiple offers.
Hiring Osovet would be silly. You already have him on staff. What’s the point?

Might have an outside hire we haven’t heard about.

What is silly about promoting Osovet? He has paid his dues for two yrs on staff in off field coaching role as he was asked. Part of the reason he came and gave up a HC job was the expectation that he gets a full time role if he proves himself. I think he will prove to be a relentless recruiter. He does well without the position so being able to travel will only increase his ability to recruit. He is a grinder and highly respected in industry. He deserves a shot and has shadowed Yac at WR and RB for two yrs. it’s obvious the plan was for him to take Yac spot at some point in time.

If not him I’d want McClendon. Got to be hard to be demoted and stay on staff but he has experience with Bobo so probably makes it easier for him to accept

Not really worried about him going to another program. That’s probably the least worrisome thing about not hiring him. If they were that worried about it they would have done something last year.

Anyway, we’ll see if Pruitt considers or hires him. If not, I guess he’ll get blowback here.

I have a ton of faith in Pruitt when it comes to these decisions and I will be fine either way. He’s an old school ball coach and I think he sees details that 99% of us don’t even know are there. I’m just saying I don’t agree with anyone who says we shouldn’t give him a shot because he has a weak resume because we really don’t know that. As mentioned before, did anyone know who Brian Neidemeyer was when he was hired? Pruitt did.

Curious as to why Osovet is getting so much run. Serious question - what has he done to merit consideration? And your RB coach really should be an outstanding recruiter.
He is an outstanding recruiter - top 3 on staff.

And he is a whiz with RPO concepts - he can coach offense.

Bummer about YAC.

Appreciate the inroads with Whitehaven. Not sure they last though. Glad to see him go to Tallahassee than Ole Miss. I’d like to see Osovet involved more. Although he’s probably got negligible recruiting networks.

Aaron Hayden is in Memphis, was coaching RB's at St. George, Loves Tenn., great personality and not sure how that would transfer to the college level.

What Nieds should teach us is that recruiting networks can be easily and quickly created. No one knew about Nieds 2-3 years ago and look at how good he is now.
