Fire Chaney

It's the fact that no QB looks any better today than game one that gets me. He has had a full season with them and they are all bad.
No QB looks better from game one? Did you watch the previous 5 games coming into tonight? JG didn’t play well tonight but he was night and days better in those games than he was at the beginning of the season. Be as critical as you want but to say he didn’t get better throughout he year is not accurate.

Here’s the deal with Chaney...he calls a good game with great players. But he is stubborn and will not change when he has less unless forced - which Pruitt did down the stretch. Chaney is why we lost the first two and almost lost tonight. Pruitt needs to keep him on track
I’m sorry but I disagree. We had WRs running wide open for TDs in the first game and never looked their way. Watch the tape. And vs BYU the pick they had in the 3rd was thrown into triple coverage with 2 wide open WRs to the right. Certainly not saying the play calling has been perfect but many times it hasn’t been executed.

Guarantano's stats are virtually identical to last year with double the interceptions and 3 percent lower completion percentage. He made the same mistakes tonight that he did last year and earlier this year. Throwing behind guys, bad throws in the red zone, checking down well short of the 1st on 3rd and long, throws into coverage. Maurer came in tonight and looked just like he did in game one. Go back and look at QBs grow under Cutcliffe to see what a true QB coach gets done.

Chaney did the same at UGA, now we know why they didn't try hard to keep him. Chaney is a joke !
He's not a great coordinator, as you all saw when he was at Tennessee his first stint. I think he's on the lazy side. At his weight, he can't keep coaching long. I think that's why Kirby didn't try to retain him.

Maurer is a true freshman. Not many of those do very well. Let alone splitting time like he did. Acting like Chaney is a rookie coach without any successes to speak of reveals ignorance. You guys are probably the clowns that pollute the radio shows with your nonsense

And who is this douchenozzle? Your offense looks like hot garbage with 5 star players. One year before that Fromm was one of the best QBs in CFB. I really enjoy when nothing happening fans critique guys who they are not even in the same stratosphere with when it comes to knowledge of a sport. Drink another one fanboy

Who is coaching the QB position? At some point a player doing the same negative things over and over and over becomes an issue with the teacher. Each quarterback that played tonignt didn't look any different than they looked when they took their first snaps this season. Player development is the #1 role of a coach. You spend 5 days a week doing that.
I get it but there’s only so much you can do with a two of a kind hand, besides this is Chaney’s first year with this group, I’m sure JG isn’t being coached to over-throw, throw behind, throw late, or simply miss open receivers. JG just doesn’t have it.

If Cheney was a rookie coach I would better be able to understand the QB fiasco. Maurer was here for spring and all of the season. Played in multiple games and started a few. He made every mistake tonight that he did in his first game months ago. JG wasn't one iota better tonight than he was last season. We finished 98th in scoring offense, 101st in total offense and 107th in redzone offense.

I am not saying fire the guy, but with his resume and QB history the QB play and offense has been a huge letdown. Especially considering the WR talent we have.

The original post/theory is objectively stupid. Boo this person, boo everyone else that makes emotionally charged assertions based not in fact but feeling. Only when the those who “feel like...” get blasted for what is, again, objectively STUPID, will the world become at least an intellectually honest place. Perhaps we can grow from there as a species.

Sorry op but not only do I think you are way off base, but also 100% wrong. Chaney is here as long as he wants. Might as well get behind him, or be miserable for several more years. While QB played sucked tonight, play calling got us there. Enjoy the win.

This guy has not done jack squat with these QBs or this offense. The defense has progressed all year. The offense has stunk it up.
I think.... I'd like to see another year or two and hopefully a better QB before agreeing Chaney should be fired. His choices were a Fr that wasn't ready, a RS Fr who may never be ready, and a RS Jr who has a chronic problem with making decisions too slow and being late and off target with the ball.

Cheney is undeniably a good offensive coordinator. No one calls a perfect game and I thought we were too conservative in the 3rd quarter but players have to make plays. Our QB situation next spring and fall will be fascinating to watch. JG obviously has an advantage but he barely survived as the starter this year. The kid has guts and courage but he may have already reached his ceiling and I’m not sure what else can be done for him to improve. I hope I’m wrong but he seems inconsistent by nature, misses important throws too often, lacks pocket presence, and the most obvious issue..holds onto the ball too long. Tough as nails and seems like a decent leader who has the respect of his peers however so must be a good kid and a VFL.

Maurer, Shrout, and incoming Bailey who comes in early all seemingly have a lot of upside will be right on his heels. Not even mentioning Hill. We have got to find a way to generate more offense and score more points next year to advance another step and compete with Georgia and Florida. I hope JG can pull it off but I wouldn’t put money on it.
