If there’s a legit grad xfer qb I think you definitely kick the tires. 2 of the 4 playoff teams were likely 8-9 win teams without their grad xfer qb

Only one was a grad transfer. The others were regular transfers looking for playing time. Most grad transfers aren’t as good. Otherwise, they would stay and be the #1 guy or go pro.

We just don't have any scorers. Bowden has been a huge disappointment. Just do see us being able to score many points, at least enough to win much.

Yeah...Turner's 33.7 MPG and 12.3 PPG wasn't something we needed to have to try and replace this season.

I could probably give Bowden more of a pass if he was doing more elsewhere...but to be a senior and getting the 2nd most minutes on the team he's gotta give more than he has been.

I mean he's getting more than twice as many minutes as Olivier and the freshman is out rebounding him and scoring 5 a game.

We lost a ton of production, no one has really stepped up scoring to help off set Admiral & Grant leaving (both averaged 16+ a game) heck we've not even really offset losing Bone's production yet either.

from 82 PPG last year to 67 PPG this season. Big drop off. I am hoping Olivier, Gaines and James can crank up their production if all 3 could push that 10ppg mark we'd be in business and more competitive, since our defense this season is better than last year so far.

Hurts & Burrow both graduated and were eligible their first season at the new school. Burrow graduated in 3 years though and that's why he had 2 seasons at LSU.

I think our “floor” is rising more so than our ceiling, and I’m fine with that for now. With our resources and fanbase, we are built for the long haul.
I agree. I’ll add this as well. Just because we beat South Carolina, Kentucky and Missouri doesn’t necessarily mean we’re head and shoulders above those programs right now. Really the Kentucky and Missouri games could have gone either way. I could see us dropping any of those games next season. Things are always subject to change, but right now I’d consider 8-4 to be a solid season. 2021 is when we’ll see the jump IMO.

I rarely venture into OT/The Pub forums, but I have to wonder what the story behind that "OWH's topic that never dies" thread is. It's pages and pages of people simply saying "good morning" or posting day to day minutiae of everyday life. It's slightly trance-inducing to read...morning...morning...morning...morning there's something catchy about it.

Don't sell it short. There are also some "good nights." Very well balanced thread imo.

It’s one spot at arguably our Worst position. If you trust pruitt and staff ability to put together good classes top to bottom you should be ok with taking a transfer QB. You’re gonna have like 5 absolute nothings in every class anyway. Would rather take a gamble on a QB
I’m not sure why so many would be against it. There’s nothing really to lose.

So does this David Johnson to Free Shoes University have legit legs or what ?

Who knows...wouldn't be a promotion so I'm not sure if he takes it. Wondering if it's just coming up cause he worked for Norvell at Memphis. He was only there 2 seasons though, he's been here just as long. And I'd think SEC > ACC especially since we're further along in the rebuild.

I don't think we can keep Johnson too much longer, but I feel like he's not leaving until it's for a coordinator job or head coaching opportunity.

JG is above both, Maurer hasn't done **** and Bailey isn't even on campus yet.

Both could end up with better careers, but neither has done anything more than JG in college as of yet.

Maurer showed more potential and promise Than JG did at any time here before he got his neck injury. Our team won games in spite of bad QB play. There’s really no way around that.
