Mcdad as a lifelong carpenter I have had many many blue nails. Left thumb is about 30% blue now. Dont remember what hurt it this time honestly. If it's really hurting from pressure, just get a new 1/16 or so spiral drill bit and twist it with your fingers in the center of the nail until it goes all the way thru. It doesnt really hurt, and the relief when the blood comes out is immediate and amazingly good. Then put some neosporin on it so it doesnt get infected and it wont hurt anymore unless you fractured the bone too....have done it close to a dozen times. Tried heating a finish nail with fire and burning thru the nail omce... do not recommend. Drill bit works great.

I usually heat up the thumbnail with a propane torch first , and then punch through the nail with a soldering iron, or a skill saw to take a little off the tip.

That had to be excruciating.

The skin under my toenail is already purple.
Is it swelling up and raising your nail? Years ago when I was finishing out the upstairs of my house I smashed my thumb with a hammer. Blood shot out from underneath the nail ..... I immediately drilled a hole in the nail with my knife to relive the pressure.... I still ended up having to go to a walk in clinic several days later to have it drained again. It sucked!!

Luckily, it hit to the side and thank heavens there is no super- painful pressure. Hurts a little when i walk, though.

When you think you’ve seen it all, there’s some that you haven’t.

So I’m driving today and see a older model Toyota coming towards me and looks as if there’s something dragging under his truck. Well there was, he had 12 ft pvc pipe (about 10 of them) strapped from the front all the back past the rear bumper under his truck. He overcame and persevered fo sho.
