Yes, it is.

Clemson managed just enough of that to beat OSU last night. TL used a less noticed part of his game, running, to lay it all out on the line to win and take some wicked hits. The rest of the team responded despite OSU being better on the lines on both sides of the ball. Venables cobbled together enough adjustments to slow OSU down. LSU did enough with it to turn theirs into a snoozer in the first 20 minutes of the game with both a future NFL franchise QB and quality D. They got to coast through the rest of the game as a result.

Our D is being built to compete as well as any of the above. It's now all about the QB, which is HB. IMO we have the coaches who are as competent as the ones above. So it is just a matter of time to be on the big stage. Hopefully by 2021 or 2022.
Venables is soooo good. He is Dabos Achilles heel...if somebody could take him from Dabo it will sink him...

I gave up trying to understand after the "football move" rule followed the FL player getting a TD for the ball going through his hands.
The biggest issue is the two rules contradict themselves.... if you’re running towards the end zone and the moment you break the plane in the air, the play is dead and it’s a touchdown. But you catch the ball, have possession in the end zone..but it’s not an instant touchdown. You have to “finish the catch”.

hypothetical, you have the first pick in the draft and u have to decide between burrow and lawrence.... what do you do?

Good question. Trevor has done this twice now. Technically Burrow has had one great year. My gut says TL.
mine too but id be extremely worried i made a mistake, like ordering the crab legs but coveting the steak you thought of ordering the guy at the next table is obviously enjoying the hell out of

Tank?

I remember similar comments after Morris and Watson were gone.

Time to face it, Dabo ain’t going anywhere any time soon.
Right. They’re here to stay. Kind of grinds my gears when I see people try to discredit a guy because he has great assistants. Well who wins championships with sorry assistants? Nobody does. Dabo has that thing built to last, and if Venables leaves, he’ll probably hire another great coordinator.

It was absolutely a catch. He clearly catches it, has possession, then reaches out for the goal line. Once he breaks the plane of the goal line the play should’ve been done and it should’ve been 6 points.

Have to finish the catch. That is the rule. He did not finish the catch. He was still fully extended and did not keep possession of the ball because of the ground. Hence not finishing the catch. It’s a pretty simple rule.

that one foot touching the ground is confusing some people, as he starts to possess it it comes up and he is basically diving now .... therefore he must possess it thru the ground, since he cannot make a football move and turn upfield, therefore its incomplete

Ohio State got hosed. Tossing the safety was awful. Overturning the return for Td was even worse. If that was 3rd and 10 and it would’ve been a first down and they called that play incomplete, Clemson fans would’ve raised hell. Every on the planet would’ve wanted that to be called a catch. I also thought dobbins Td that was called back was a catch. He catches it, takes a couple steps.. crosses the end zone (which by rule the moment you cross the goal line with the ball the play is dead and it’s a touch down).

That being said, day coaches like butch jones and settled for 3 too often.... that and Trevor Lawrence is some weird hybrid mix between Andrew luck, Colin Kaeperknick(the way they run), and Mathew stafford.

Full speed at first is thought it was incomplete, but slow motion is there for a reason, to clarify full speed situations

No way should that have been overturned

Better check that rule again because this absolutely not a catch according to the rule.

As for the clemson catch and fumble that was overturned, they botched that call IMO.
