The Official Tennessee vs. Wisconsin Game Thread, 1:30 PM ET, CBS

That was a 2 hour stinkfest. We had no one on the court that gets you excited.

Well if anything it will be interesting how this squad responds the rest of the year. Eliminate expectations, relax and just play ball. Nothing about today was encouraging, but playing time is available for everyone on the bench. Would love to see if Vescovi can help now but would understand if they decided to redshirt. Before today was wanting to see any glimpse that we could salvage a chance to get to the NCAA tourney but until shown otherwise we may be lucky to make the NIT. No one in the SEC looks great so have the opportunity to improve.

Then quit watching. It’s entertainment. Our men’s basketball program and football program are in much better places than 4 years ago. Alabama has a big bandwagon to jump on.
I’ll watch, and I’ll criticize when I see fit. Thanks for trying to tell me how to live my life though, there’s never enough people like you in the world who think they are so superior because their opinion is different than someone else’s.

Never said that, and opinions have consequences. Pretty ironic what you stated because you were criticizing what “others” would say.

You the man, though. Keep being you. Look in the mirror with your post.

We were really concerned about James being a one and done player. There is zero doubt in my mind that this team is getting coached, it’s just time they take a look in the mirror and somebody has to step up, take control of the team and be a leader.
GBO!!

When your first 4 seasons are all low ranked classes & development you’re not ready to just “reload” when ya have guys leave early.

I think people are forgetting we also lost a great assistant coach in Lanier, I think that’s had a bigger impact on this team than all the player attrition.

Although we unfortunately missed on too many development players the last few classes. (Burns, Walker, Kent, etc.)

This staff's biggest issue was Blackshear spurning them at the last second. The eligibility and injury issues haven't helped.

Blackshear would have been nice but the problem is their terrible, terrible guard play

This year is an anomaly. Rick is responsible for his roster but even he didn't see Bone leaving. Turners injury. Uros being ineligible. I do believe he knew JJJ would not be ready to be a star. If Vescovi is ready play him this team needs a true point guard.

He knew Bones was leaving in April. He had no contingency plan.

He knew there was a chance Uros would be ineligible.

He knew Bailey wouldn’t be able to play this year.

He took three projects knowing that he’d have attrition after this year. And turns out the 5* is a project too. So four.

His roster construction is absolutely inexcusable.

well, Vescovi may see some playing time next game...:D

GO BIG ORANGE!
Depends on Vescovi’s goals and were he is developmentally. I’m leaning toward the idea that just redshirting him is best. Vescovi likely can’t help this team win games, so why waste a year of his eligibility and ruin his confidence.

Bowden, Gaines, and James 5 for 27 today and that tells you all you need to know. Those three need to shoot around 45 percent for us to have a chance to win. Wouldn't have been enough today but your looking at another 15 points at least.

Just the opposite, you play him to gain experience and make sure he's ready for next season.

Would have done nothing for their ability to beat anyone off the dribble or their shooting woes.

Having your defender sag inside wouldn’t help shooting?

Having a kick out from an offensive rebound wouldn’t help shooting?

We do lack real dribble threat though, that’s very frustrating when you consider Jalen & Bowden are both 4 year guys. And James is a 5 star guard, someone should be better at getting by their defender.

By April yes he knew Bone was leaving but he didn't anticipate it back when the season was playing. Only point he could add by then was grad transfer.

What are the rules for red-shirting for bball? Can they play a few games?
