I love the old writers like Andrew Murray, Lightfoot, Tozer, Sproul, and many others.
All fantastic. Learned a ton from Sproul/MacArthur as well. Both had a massive impact on my understanding of theology and the nature of God.

Another favorite is JC Ryle. Incredibly insightful when it comes to teaching what a Christian life looks like. “Practical Religion” by him is an A+++ book.

Our church is about to enter a study on Ryle's book "Holiness"

My dad was a regular speaker at all the Real Evangelism Conferences. He also spoke for Dr. Adrian Rodgers, Bellvue Bap. Dr. Jerry Vines, FBC Jacksonville, FBC Dallas and many others.
Deep SBC ties. Blessings to all the ministers on Volnation. I just started in Like this month and intend to go to into chapter 9 before breaking sometime late spring.

Just wish Oklahoma wasn’t on the schedule. When you have Bama, UF and UGA on the schedule every year it makes zero sense to me to throw a program like that on the schedule. Just not sure we have the talent and depth to win 8+ next season.
To become elite you have to play elite. Win or Lose , UT will benefit from this game long-term.

I can understand not wanting Oklahoma this past year because we needed wins, needed a bowl. But this next year we have nothing to lose. We’re still very irrelevant in the quest for Atlanta from outsiders. Butch’s team got pounded by Oklahoma and then played them dang good the next year.

I’ve been hearing from various sources a lot of hype surrounding Kentucky’s defensive line haul in this recruiting class. After comparing signees and commitments (and expected commitments) to date for the more significant opponents on our schedule I think what the narrative leaves out is that sure this is an impressive defensive line class for Kentucky being that they are Kentucky. The fact is that the average for their defensive line class this cycle, for the moment, ranks last among the teams listed and would still rank last even if by some chance we didn’t end up signing Hardy.

Nieds not tweeting all good now? We good.

Not sure how to take that.....concerned the rumors on him may have some validity. Hope I am wrong, but if true, best of luck to him and I trust 1) CF and CP would have given their best to keep him and 2) both of them will go out and hire a gunslinger.

We are in a good place and the trajectory is good.....GBO !!
