crazy season, so far...Kansas is the 5th or 6th team to be No. 1...Vandy, LSU, and ol' KY lost last night...Auburn stands out right now...point being, there's a long way to go and we can still have a good season...Coach B is trying the best he can with what we have and anything is still possible...hopefully, we can still get it together...just hold on...:D

GO BIG ORANGE!

Listen to Coach.

Dad always told me "you'll learn a lot more and improve a lot more after a loss than you would a victory".

Hopefully these guys are willing to learn/improve

This is the logic I'm using on our football team. We should be able to get to Atlanta at least next year!

I agree that Turner's call was a flop. He got brushed, but was falling backwards before he ever got hit. Barnes calls em like he sees em.

Yup, that was a flop.

I think we have one of those teams, where are end of year...we have no one averaging over 12 points/game in scoring.

We'll have about eight guys averaging 6 to 12 points each.

Problem is we've had Kiffin, Dooley and Butch trying to teach the lesson.....

I think Pruitt is getting through to his guys.....bowl game will tell a lot

I keep wondering when JJJ is going to unleash the potential indicated by that 5-star rating.

JJJ can’t. He doesn’t have the ball handling skills, assertiveness, or ability to get to the rim.

That's why I say needs to. JJJ needs to want the ball and attack the rim. Turner's job should be to get the ball into the front court and then get it to JJJ wherever he wants to be to look to score. JJJ doesn't need to watch Turner drive. He needs to. His ball handling skills are fine in the half court. He already looks more comfortable handling the ball than Hubbs ever did and isn't far behind where JP was. Similar size to those two too.

I think that JJJ needs to get the ball 12'-15' from the basket and he should look to take a dribble or two and shoot or kick it out to Turner/Bowden spotting up on the 3PL or dump it to the weak side to Pons/Fulk cutting to the rim. I think that JJJ should take 10-15 midrange shots per game while Pons/Fulk look for put back opportunities. JJJ is a good passer and can see the court. As athletic as he is he could be at the rim in a quick burst. He's also a very good free throw shooter and he'll get more of those opportunities with that kind of spacing instead of roaming around the perimeter. Basically he needs to be more selfish right now and look to score first. Turner needs to look for JJJ instead of looking to shoot so often.

Strongly disagree on his ball-handling. I think the looseness of which, is probably the thing I find the most surprising/disappointing about his game, so far, considering a lot of people had him penciled in as our PG of the future. I think it is pretty clear he won't be a one-and-done, which I never believed to begin with, but I hope that is the one skill he improves the most in the offseason.

Agree completely on ball handling.......It might be a confidence thing. He looks extremely uncomfortable dribbling the basketball...He'll obviously get better and more comfortable as the season progresses, but it's almost cringe worthy at times..........His lack of ball handling is absolutely the reason he doesn't attack the basket more......

I'd like to see how many of his TOs come while passing as opposed to losing it while dribbling in the open court and how often when driving to the basket. I think that about half a dozen are when trying to force passes that aren't there.

I recall several where guys just weren't ready for the pass. Which is more on them and makes me wonder if Vescovi will be considered a TO machine passing to guys that have their heads other places than in the game.

Pons stepped up this year, but he's far from maxing out mentally. He was guarding Cincy's worst free throw shooter inside the last minute and wasn't aware that he needed to foul him. Fulk is becoming a more reliable pass receiver, but he might still be a bit unsure with his damaged right hand.

Vescovi to JJJ cutting to the hoop has the potential to be spectacular.

Was it Fulky Barnes was addressing when he mentioned fumbling and flopping around?

I didn't hear it. Versus Cincinnati Turner had the obvious "flop" while the one called on Pons was a BS whistle and warning. But "fumbling and flopping" sounds like he's addressing something else.

To me JJJ is closer to Admiral than any other recent player.

If/when he can knock down jumpers his confidence & aggression will allow him to handle the ball better and attack the rim.
