With 12 (if I counted correctly) returning DL plus the 3 that signed today, is there any room for Jay Hardy? It seems like the staff will already be recommending that more than a few guys look somewhere else. If they think he's good enough and can find room for him I won't be mad, but it seems like it would make more sense to add bodies in an area with less depth.
You prioritize and take difference makers on the the line of scrimmage all day. Hardy and Omari Thomas could be quite the force in a couple of years. Hardy would instantly be one of our best commits and in the rotation for snaps.
Think of Auburns DL this past season.

Then I have the same questions about RJ Perry. I get taking 3 DL every year because you play with 3, but taking a 4th with the numbers on next year's roster is puzzling. Unless the staff thinks all four can play right away, in which case RJ Perry would be the most underrated player in quite a while.
Great post and that is what you need to do. Have fresh Dl in the 4th quarter.Perry has some position versatility and is insurance as a stash and develop type of kid. Don't think anyone expects him to contribute anytime soon and that's fine.
Also, Pruitt wants to sub a lot similar to how the gumps and uga roll players in the front 7 on d all game to keep starters fresh in 4th quarter, so you can never have too much depth there.
Honestly, Bryson Eason and Jay Hardy are pretty close in size and stature. I think Eason is going to be a DE in the 3-4. Naturally big kid that has really good athletic ability. Similar to Kurot Garland.
he can be 290 lbs and still have that agility.
Will have several seniors next year. And we are light on DEs. He would get in the rotation next year and see the field as much as he wants his final 2-3 years. With 12 (if I counted correctly) returning DL plus the 3 that signed today, is there any room for Jay Hardy?
