Well said. I think that Luther, LG, Mick, Septic, etc. have a right to their opinions, and couldn't care less whether they view things as I do.

Isn't it fair to say that Barack Obama was more civil and less antagonistic than Trump, though? I really can't think of another American politician who has ever felt such a need to settle scores and seek vindication against critics the way Trump does. He is very combative and that often reveals an insecure, petty and immature side to him which is unbecoming of a leader. He is also humorless, unrefined, self-serious, arrogant and quite obnoxious.

I understand that Obama could be polarizing in his own right, but he also had a self-deprecating side to him. Obama could laugh at himself. Obama has done a Jimmy Kimmell segment of "mean tweets" and read some very insulting things about himself and then feigned anger (and he was funny while doing it). Trump would never do anything like that. He has no sense of humor at all, and he takes everything personally. Basically, Obama is more likable.

Two points:
1) Trump being a dick =/= reason to hate him
2) There were many times where Obama was a dick on policy issues and demonized people who held positions opposed to his own.

On style points no one is as crass at Trump. On issues Obama was divisive as hell (unless you agreed with his positions) and he ascribed terrible motives to people who held views other than his. Two different approaches to being divisive.

The jury is still out on what all the Obama administration actually did to political opponents. Give it time.

I will take a stab at the first part. I agree with everything except the humorless part. That said, persona is way down my list of concerns.

... Obama could record Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the shower, then post the video of her fully naked, soaped-up body on YouTube and he would still be more likable than Donald Trump.

How could I forget? On September 21, 2016, Obama had Comey announce that the FBI was investigating the Trump campaign's ties to Russia.

It nearly cost him the election.

He makes a joke and they go bananas. Same with the hyperbole. Hyperbolic is his biggest character trait of the ones BB not isted IMO. Of course they call it "lies".

I draw a distinction between one's view on pepperoni pizza and one's view on slavery. Some varying views are more acceptable than others. I completely respect your views on IPA's even if they completely differ from my own. I have no respect for your views on modern day slavery if they differ from mine. Continuums.
