The Impeachment Thread

Given your devotion to public sentiment why do you support impeachment if the plurality (in the most polling data) is against it? Is your opinion more important than the plurality?
Opinion sometimes lags, as evident in the Nixon ordeal.

I'm interested in seeing how many dims in districts that Trump won vote yes. Then seeing what the fallout will be i.e. recall votes, etc..
I'd be surprised if as many as 5 of the 31 actually vote against impeachment.

They've all been threatened with being "primaried" if they don't vote to impeach.

what an ego
LOL....You knew your question was BS.
Sentiment on impeachment has vacillated. For me to remain consistent on "public sentiment" I would have to say, impeach, no don't impeach, wait a minute impeach, no stop. It doesn't work that way.

You think he hasn't expanded his support, but you would be wrong. The RNC picked up 600,000 new donors since the impeachment movement.

RNC Says It Added 600K New Donors Since Start of Impeachment – [your]NEWS

The Trump campaign has also identified thousands of people who haven't voted in years that are attending various Trump rallies.
When I say that Trump hasn't expanded on his core base of support, I am alluding to his poll numbers which have been remarkably stagnant during his tenure. They don't seem tied to the economy or to the stock market. They simply don't move. Trump's Real Clear Politics Average Approval Rating has been between 37.1% and 46.2%. Currently, it is at 44.1%. That is an incredibly small variance for 3 years. With such a strong economy at his back, that is not a good sign. Trump is either not getting any credit for the economy, or concerns over his behavior are overriding how people feel about the economy. Having said that, there is no question that his supporters are loyal, enthusiastic and unwavering.

I'm referring to your implying that your view is correct and "eventually" people will come to see things the way you do.

The critical question is where does he stand in the swing states and how do they view impeachment. That's the fire that Dems are potentially stoking with this impeachment effort.

Legal question:

Could the House add a last-minute article of impeachment that simply reads: "President Donald Trump is not well" and attach the letter he sent Congress today.

I would support it.

Likewise I'd support a recall effort on Schiff based on his performance Sunday - claiming hindsight isn't 20/20 for the reason he continually asserted the FBI FISA/Russia investigation was 100% legit.

Would not be a ground to impeach. That basis would fall under 25th amendment and be commenced by pence and cabinet

Someone should check if his urine is blue. We may be dealing with a mad King here.

Of course I think my view is correct, otherwise I would change my view. Isn't that the way everyone functions?
It's my eternal optimism which leads my to believe that people will eventually hold the correct view.
The last 3 years have certainly tested my foundation.

I get Brian Tyler Cohen's videos recommended to me on my YouTube home page all the time... If you are a liberal and hate Trump... his stuff is pretty good.

There it is.

While I can honestly say Obama was the worst President of all time that made multiple impeachable offenses in 8 years, I don't never remember me saying I hated him once.

I have my views but I don't hope people eventually come to believe as me and more importantly I don't think they are incorrect if they don't believe as me.
