I hate Butch, but for what it’s worth, he recruited Tennessee much better than Pruitt has thus far. We shouldn’t take all of the top 10 just for the sake of it, but we shouldn’t let the best players leave the state on their own accord neither.

We really need to recruit Memphis hard because I have a feeling Lane and Pittman are really going to start recruiting that area heavily as well. We have let too many of the top ones slip by over the years. There's enough talent in the state to where we should be signing 10 to 12 a year now.

You're forgetting about Barnett too. He's straight up a better baller than Hurd ever was or will be.

So kidnapping??? Pretty sure that’s illegal even in Memphis... screw it I'm in for a road trip, let me know where to bring the van.
On a serious note all other things being equal sometimes playing for the home state flagship school means more to a guy but not sure that holds serve in Memphis. Those guys could grow up being closer to ole miss, bama and the pigs than the 5+ hours to UT.

I do think it can be argued that Butch did a better job in middle Tenn. seems that we could do better in Nashville and still take the best from Memphis too.

thanks but umm Thomas and Small are from Briarcrest not Whitehaven the two couldn't be more different. That's like in Chattanooga McCallie/Baylor would be to Briarcrest as (Howard/Brainerd are to Whitehaven. We got 3 kids from a public school in the Memphis vs 2 kids from a private school in Eads

West Tennessee players are generally overrated. Look who is winning state championships year in and out and where they’re located on a map. If anything, East Tennessee doesn’t get respect.

Whitehaven kids were recruiting them heavily.
