i dont think so, i get what you're saying. 25 just makes this too difficult. I'd like to see number increased to say, 27. or even 30.

Who knew that Saban believes he actually owns his assistants below the coordinator level.

At one point, that yielded some commentary from Saban that hinted at some friction between him and former assistants, Georgia coach Kirby Smart and Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt.

“We’ve always had sort of a mutual respect for how we sort of take each other’s people,” Saban said to Belichick of their relationship. “It’s one thing that I always try to emphasize to the guys: what I have a tough time with, aight, is we’ve had however many guys who have worked here who are at Georgia, Tennessee — whoever, wherever — is when they get those jobs, and in most cases you’ve helped them, is they have a hard time understanding why they can’t take your people.

“I’m gonna help you get a job, [only] so that you can take what I’ve tried to build here and destroy the continuity of what I have? It’s amazing how some of the assistants don’t understand why that’s not a good thing.”

You can tell Nick is starting to feel some heat with yet another flameout. His
whining has gotten louder and more regular.

Waaaahhhhh!!!

"He played at Alabama for almost half of his college time, so we get half of any national titles he wins!"

- bammers
Well then Clemson national titles count as Bammer titles because their coach played there. Which means if Pruitt gets any here, they count for Bammer too! 🤦‍♂️

The rules for both letters of intent/financial aid agreements and for initial counters allow athletes who enter after the first term of the academic year can count against the current academic year or the next academic year. Still capped at 25 each per year though.
15.5.6.3 covers the blueshirt exception for initial counters.

But with the hard cap signing rule, they count all signings year round now, which is why blueshirts count. Since they are receiving aid in the Fall, they must count toward that year (as opposed to a grayshirt).

There is no exception for signings though for nonrecruited athletes. Which is why they can still be utilized up to 25 and limited to the same number you had the previous year (dating back to how many you had before the hard cap), since they can keep rolling over.

And if the hard cap rule we have all complained about really didn't stop this - then I don't know what the point of the rule would be. You were already limited to 25 ICs a year.

I would think it would be a big deal if the hard cap was revoked and we could go back to signing 30 a class.

If I had a name like that I don't think I'd want to be in public.
