The Impeachment Thread

FBI's Wray basically slams Trump on the whole Ukraine issue. SIAP.

"In an interview with ABC News, Wray declared there was “no indication” that Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election. And then he went a step further: He urged people to be savvier consumers of news.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but he’s basically saying he doesn’t want them listening to the president of the United States.

“We have no information that indicates that Ukraine interfered with the 2016 presidential election,” Wray said, adding: “Well, look, there’s all kinds of people saying all kinds of things out there. I think it’s important for the American people to be thoughtful consumers of information and to think about the sources of it and to think about the support and predication for what they hear.”

Deep State is by definition career bureaucrats that run a shadow government based on outside influence from lobbyists / think-tanks / corporations that are usually affiliated with the Council on Foreign Relations and/or the Tri-Lateral Commission.

Trump’s political career started in 2015 as a candidate.

How does Trump fit into the Deep State?

Russian agenda

Well, the DNC "selection process" was an unmitigated disaster. Clinton was the pre-ordained choice.
yep.

That is why Trump is the ultimate underdog story. The party he ran and won within hated him. He beat political machinery, and they despise him for it.

I wasn't talking about taking the 5th in terms of refusing to answer questions, I was referencing the protection against a defendant being compelled to testify. I have no idea if a witness could "plead the 5th" in an impeachment trial.
Isn't an impeachment trial a criminal affair? After all they are attempting to ascertain high crimes and misdemeanors. I would think Mr Trump could tell them to go **** themselves.

New Dell laptop is doing crazy things on me. It’s a lemon I think.

I have a Lenova that is from sometime around 2009 and uses Windows 7.

It still runs extremely fast and honestly puts every other computer I own that is windows 10 to shame.

I swear the new operating systems are crap and the newer computers just keep getting worse. My HP is a disaster.

I would think so. But I'm (thankfully) not a lawyer and with Roberts who knows. The guy has pulled precedent/law out of thin air before.

Just when u thought today couldn't get any worse for the Dems

“Well the IG Report isn’t what we thought it would be but hang on a minute while we readjust our narrative to make it into what we want it to be. We do it all the time get over it”

If yall want to read some stuff that makes Luther and LG seem like the sanest people in the world go to reddit and read their politics forums. Its basically basement dwelling virgin neckbeards friend zone cucks talking about how their feelings hurt all the time and they are scared of the world.

There's a reason Pelosi and Co. are short-circuiting the normal judicial process.

"So, John Roberts can compel any witness he wants to appear and he can judge to what degree witnesses can decline to give evidence and on what basis."

Pelosi Will Impeach, and John Roberts’ Role Will Loom Large

"...there is no reason that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who presides as the judge of a Senate impeachment trial, cannot unilaterally enforce congressional subpoenas on the spot. He can also rule on any executive privilege claims on the spot. "

"...There is no need to go through the courts and all the appeals processes for non-cooperating witnesses because that is designed for “Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.” It has nothing to do with an impeachment trial that the Senate has the “sole Power” to try and where the Chief Justice has the sole responsibility to preside. So, John Roberts can compel any witness he wants to appear and he can judge to what degree witnesses can decline to give evidence and on what basis. I can’t see how he could reasonably deny the House the right to call witnesses who indisputably have direct knowledge of the High Crimes, misdemeanors and bribery that will be alleged in the articles of impeachment.

The Republicans may use the same logic to compel people like Joe and Hunter Biden, Adam Schiff and the whistleblower to appear. However, the Bidens are not fact witnesses, Schiff enjoys certain presumed privileges as a congressman, and the whistleblower has some statutory protections. Nonetheless, the decision on these matters will be up to John Roberts, and he can make sure that the American people hear all the relevant evidence or he can act in a nakedly partisan manner. He should at least be compelled to make that choice in the most visible way possible."
Thanks MP. I've been saying the Senate won't be able to put on a sham trial. Chief Justice Roberts will be in charge gavel to gavel. IMO even Moscow Mitch's role will be to set and listen since he has a vote as a juror.
