Because we were playing Nebraska. Not a midmajor school no one cares aboutDespite objections from many on VolNation, Nashville will be drowning in orange should the Vols get a Music City Bowl invite. Tennessee was disappointed to make the Music City Bowl in 2016 given how lofty expectations were at the start of the season and still managed to show up in droves, so I would expect a large portion of rational Vols to be elated with a trip to Nashville and a solid chance at notching an 8th win considering how this season started.

Tennessee fans travel everywhere though I’m sure you weren’t alive when we took 40k to Hawaii in the 70s. It doesn’t mean Nashville vs Loserville is a great bowl selection for this team. It’s not. While it's obvious that you won't be going to the Music City Bowl provided the Vols are selected to represent the SEC, it should be pretty evident that there's going to be a big turnout of excited Tennessee fans in Nashville for the game.
Next year this team will compete for the East..Florida or Georgia will fall to the Vols in 2020.I'm with you. After an 0-2 and 1-4 start I'm excited about making it to a bowl. We are such a young team that the experience, practice and coaching is so much more important and beneficial that where the bowl is. I will say that I prefer a bowl game in Florida but I think we have a better shot at getting 8 wins by playing in Nashville. I'm just glad we're talking about bowls and next year we should be in consideration for the more appealing bowls.
Lol. Ga State is 100% relevant. It showed the apathy of the team and coaches. UT won't crush Louisville or anyone else right now. We have a starting QB who can't throw more than 2 TD's a game against anyone not in the FCS if he throws one at all.
You’re probably right. But let’s hope all the overly optimistic people on here are right. They don’t take into consideration the sorry bunch we beat to get to a bowl. Just getting a bowl win would be another step in the right directionLol. Ga State is 100% relevant. It showed the apathy of the team and coaches. UT won't crush Louisville or anyone else right now. Nor would it be highly likely. They have not faced a decent defense all year. A defense with just a shade of speed and pass rush would KILL that Memphis team. If the projections play out and they draw Penn St. in the Cotton bowl that would absolutely be the best case scenario for Memphis. PSU defense is woeful. I know they have a decent ranking defensively but they just arent very good. But of course the rankings are deceiving a bit to. I think the UAB defense is in the top 10 and we ripped them pretty good. And of course there's the massive disappointment factor that State will have too. We all know they were hoping for a much more appealing match up than Memphis. PSU just can not win either way. They are supposed to destroy this type of team so... good for Memphis. Without any question this is the absolutely highest a Memphis team could ever hope to achieve. Just being honest here and wish Memphis well because i care as little about PSU and I do any others. Lets see where the big dogs lie when this is over. You don't spend a lot of time around Memphis fans do you? That would *not* be glorious.

The best defense they played all year was ole miss haha. I agree with your point. Memphis could find themselves benefiting from a game in which the other team has a weaker defense and feels let down.Nor would it be highly likely. They have not faced a decent defense all year. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH that's your opinion and that's all it is to put it nicely. Kentucky crushed them, that don't mean we will or won't. Just like Georgia st means nothing now, it's ancient history. GBO!!!!!!Lol. Ga State is 100% relevant. It showed the apathy of the team and coaches. UT won't crush Louisville or anyone else right now.
