The Impeachment Thread

This has been beaten to death in this thread. It is happening, Trump will be impeached. He'll be acquitted.
And if it does happen, the next election will probably turn out like the last 100% partisan thing that Nancy helped ram through, i.e. Obamacare. How did the election after that turn out?

We don't know how it will turn out. The Red Hats will back Trump no matter what he does, the Left is pissed; it will be narrow margins of victory either way.

But there's a Constitutional remedy for that, right? If a president orders a dubious order, people can sue to have it blocked.
Obama's illegal EO has human bodies attached to it, it's not something that can just be undone without consequence. He knew it when he wrote it. He knew it would be a political Pandora's box.

Who in their right mind would believe that hack at this point?

Apparently 1972 Grad is about all that's left that would believe anything coming from Rudy. Rudy is persona non grata right now and is under a few federal investigations.

So let me make sure I have this correct ( I read it twice to make sure ) . As long as a president “ thinks “ a process is “ broken “ , and he’s doing something for the good of the country , even though he literally by law can’t do it , doesn’t have the power to do it , says publicly he knows he can’t do it , does it anyway ...that’s not corruption ? That’s what I was referring to earlier about perception .

Whether the president thinks the process is broken or not is immaterial. The executive order process is definitely broken and is a major part of what is wrong with our government.

Using the office for personal gain is corruption. Abusing authority to subvert the legislative process is overreach, it’s bad, but no it is unquestionably not corrupt. That’s not perception, that’s fundamentals of right and wrong. You’re trying to draw a false equivalence between two things that are not alike.

72 is alright. I'd be pissed too if I fought in the War of 1812 and was still hanging around. I've wasted too much time here tonight, now I'll have a late night doing data entry for the Great White Satan of our time: Mayor Pete.

Make sure you don't fib on the "race" part if doing voter metrics.

So what you're saying is the left is acting out of vindictiveness, and not really out of the sense of justice and morality they are trying to project? I tend to agree with that. We all know how this plays out to a degree. Trump gets impeached by the House, and acquitted by the Senate. Nothing of consequence comes from this but more political games. And Trump supporters will continue to support him and Trump haters will continue to hate him. The question is what will everyone else do? Some may believe the narrative put forth by the left, and some may believe the narrative put forth by Trump. The 2020 election will be interesting.

So want you are saying is the nuts are running the nut house.
No I actually don’t think they are running the party. It’s a significant constituency, but not a majority the way Trumpers are for the Republicans.

Nancy’s problem with the other parts of the coalition are not insignificant, though.

I think the type of woman needed to be successful in politics does not fit well with moderate Americans’ gender stereotypes and is considered unlikeable. Plus she has been the face of Congress at a time when it has been ineffective and unpopular.

She just doesn’t have a national base, but right now she’s actively reviled by a chunk of their coalition because she’s seen as too conservative not Bernie.

And one Trump supporters don’t see coming.
Hate may very well work against Trump, but the histrionics of the left may counterbalance that. I believe if they had just focused on 2020 and let Trump take himself down rather than investigation after investigation, the next election would probably be straight forward. But now, I'm not sure. Both sides have done things to damage their chances.

I did not say the left is acting out of vindictiveness, don't twist my words. All I said was the House will impeach, and the Senate will acquit.
And yes, the 2020 race will be interesting. We already have Corn Pop and leg hair, whip cream, a robot that doesn't know how to eat a cinnamon roll, and some terrible supporters that are super woke on Twitter.
