Are you going to be good if it has the opposite effect and the next time a dem holds office and the Rs hold the house , the Rs spend 4 years trying to impeach them on anything they can find ? You aren’t suggesting that everything will go back to “ normal “ SOP in DC after Trump leaves are you ? That would require both parties to agree to forget about 4 years of political grandstanding and let bygones be bygones , while I might add the left tries to put in a POTUS with far left leaning agendas .

What happened to Chief Justice of SCOTUS presides over the impeachment?

Article I, section 3 of the U.S. Constitution stipulates that the chief justice shall preside over impeachment trials of the President of the United States in the U.S. Senate.

I assume that would mean gavel to gavel.

Tisk Tisk that would imply I believed your assessment of the current situation . I believe all presidents , current and former , have done arm twisting to get what they want from both foreign and domestic groups of power . The amount that’s known to the public and the amount that’s acceptable are the differences .
Now you didn’t answer my question , are you going to be good with it , if it happens ?

What does that have to do with anything? The dems. aren't impeaching Trump because he is a repub.. If any of the other 16 repub. candidates had won, we wouldn't currently be watching the impeachment of a president.
It has nothing to do with dem. vs. rep., even though that's the narrative you've been fed by Trump and his media whores.
This is all about Trump! Trump, and nothing but Trump.
Are you claiming that future repubs will be so petty, partisan, and un-American as to go after the next dem. president simply because he is a dem.

It has everything to do with Trump and how petty the Dems have been the entire term . I believe one party will continue to follow the other party’s lead . Pettiness and politicians go hand in hand . I don’t think highly of any politician so yes they will .

It depends on the facts and circumstances of the case.

Clearly part of the Trump defense is to conjure up the fear that we're entering a Brave New World by invoking a 200+ year old Constitutional procedure, but 42 times out of 45 it never happened.

Maybe don't elect people who think they're above basic rules and oversight and it won't happen?

I am rather surprised with this statement. Whether you agree or not on this impeachment, that is exactly how it is and will be on a more rigid scale in the future. It is just like the nuke option that Reid unleashed and has since been used by Repubs.

Of course they all twist arms to get what they want.
Here is the BIG catch. Is what they want purely for personal benefit or for the benefit of the country?

Well your beliefs are based on nothing. You are being stared right in the face with this one. I'm good with impeaching, removing from office, then charged in Federal Court with a televised trial. Yes I would be great with doing whats right, NOW. If you're not for doing whats right, then you're for nothing

Did you ask yourself, if you would be good with the precedence being set with the Benghazi investigations. You probably didn't care after the first few though, just accepted it. Didn't stop you from complaining about investigating Trump. I don't care if the Republicans get butt hurt because one of their many corrupt members gets exposed.

The Republicans are already butt hurt. They've had their head up there for 3 years now.

I agree so how did Barry get elected twice ?#DreamersAct . See it’s all about perception , he literally said in public in front of cameras that “ I can’t do this “ , and then did it anyway . That’s knowing you shouldn’t by law , but believing you can get away with it when you do it . You don’t think they all do it to a degree then screech at others for doing something ?

I like how you slid in bribe . There’s no catch if you can’t prove he did it for personal gain . This is the whole problem ... one side says yes , one side says no . That’s how it will end up after the senate is done with their part .

Well then why wasn't Ford or Carter impeached after Nixon? How did we make it through 2 terms of Bush following Clinton without him being impeached?

I don't buy it. Impeachment should be reserved for when it is justifiable. Trump is completely 100% justifiable.
Maybe the lesson which should be learned is not to nominate and then elect the most horrendously despicable candidate in history.
