The Impeachment Thread

I'll step up my game.
The day they vote to impeach will be a proud day for America and celebrated worldwide.
Good for you I guess, won’t really mean much but whatever makes you all from going further over the edge is good for us all. 99% of the world won’t know like 80% of the people in this country don’t know or care

A good versus evil story. Classic drama. See rockytop?..even Mick sees it for what it is.
I would like to see the right thing done but doing the wrong thing will have consequences. It's that simple. A president shouldn't have that much power because his/her party control one chamber of congress. A president shouldn't be impeached because the opposing party controls both chambers either. Do what's right and we won't have to worry about it.

Nice thought. I wonder how often the "do what's right" judgement is made in DC?

If something so terrible and illegal was done it would and should have bi-partisan support. No doubt this is a partisan political witch hunt. I will always maintain Pelosi didn’t want to go down this road but she was pulled by the AOC wing, aka the base
This just highlights how hyper partisan the GOP is. I would suggest the Republicans do some soul searching but I'm sure they wouldn't find one.

LOL.....I hope you realize that 50 years from now Obama will be revered and Trump will be reviled.
Hell, make it 10 years from now.
It's relatively true today.
What you want to bet? Put you money where your mouth is!!!

LOL, I take it you think the Dems are super honest and are NOT partisan?

I would suggest it’s more how partisan your radical party is. They need help, they have lost their way and it’s dangerous for the country. I hope it’s not too late but I fear it is

I haven't followed except for skimming this thread. But it seems the likelihood of removal is remote. Even posted a question about it 2 days ago (i think). As far as I know no leftish poster thought he would neither be removed nor would it change the upcoming election.

So, if the end result is status quo, what's the point beyond political theater?
Working for us. Doing their jobs.

RCP’s average of polls for impeachment is at +71.3 among democrats. It’s at +1.5 among independents. +3.7 overall. Support for removal is a dead heat overall and it’s arguably being held back by some old polls that are still in the black from before the hearings.

I’m not naive enough to think all of their motives are so pure, but that goes both ways, which means that the likelihood of whether he is removed has nothing to do with whether or not he should be.

Reasonable minds can differ about whether what happened/is happening warrants removal, but I don’t think there’s any question that the people ought to be made aware of it, as they have been, and that, to the extent that people disagree with their senator’s judgment about whether what happened is acceptable, they ought to have that information available next time they go to vote. And that cuts both ways.

As convenient as it to say that, it's just not true.
This was a major headline on CNN earlier today.
George Nader, key Mueller witness, charged with funneling contributions to Clinton campaign - CNNPolitics
Eight people, including a longtime political networker and a CEO, have been indicted on charges of funneling money illegally into Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign and other political groups.
George Nader, who has for decades hobnobbed with political elites and became a key Mueller cooperator, and Allied Wallet CEO Ahmad "Andy" Khawaja are accused of sending millions to political committees and hiding Nader as its source, with Nader allegedly reporting to a Middle Eastern government on the effort.

I know it doesn't fit your narrative, but CNN covers the news. They ain't Fox.
The thing that scares the hell out of the everyone is that Trump used to be on the other side shaking hands with politicians in dark alleys to gain favor. He knows how it all works because he has been a part of it for years on the business side. Since he knows how things are done the Dems AND Reps are scared to death he will air the dirty laundry.
