The Impeachment Thread

I'd bet money that the next democrat that gets elected president gets impeached, but I won't live long enough to see that happen again.

Keep reading lilreb. You might be able to see how it's done.

I read it . He was still right , it’s wiki leaks . We all know it’s reliability is extremely suspect and it can be changed on a whim to read another way . I stand by what I said , he busted out your wiki source for what it is and you went all leftist on him .

For a while I was the first man that walked on the moon according to wikipedia.

I get his point about wiki but there are pages that are locked from trolls that would edit to create a false narrative. If you mean all leftist about the substance of a good discussion then yes. You could take a few notes from McDad. It was really one of the better discussions I've had in awhile in the PF.

Congress?
The point I’m driving at is that it is political. It was intended that way.

If the framers didn’t want it to be somewhat political, they would have given it to the Supreme Court, or at least the judicial branch, which they specifically removed from the political process by making them appointed and not elected.

I agree with the sentiment that they should not just overturn elections, and their accountability to the electorate is supposed to prevent that. I don’t know that they accounted for primary elections, though.

Making stuff up? Mulvaney admitted it.

I think you're trying to conflate wanting to impeach him for three years and now having a reason to do so.
I'm not trying to make anything up. There was people screaming impeach since election night with nothing but hate to back it.

Of course. Those things happen. Reasonable minds can differ and often do.

I’m not trying to change your mind. I’m asking you to explain how you get from “they work for us” and “impeachment is a soap opera”/“status quo for 200 years,”/Resignation/not resignation/whatever.

So far, IMO, you’ve quibbled over terms, reduced it to a partisan binary choice, and now refuse to engage. I think pushing back on all of that is fair game since none of it really connects idea A with idea B. But if you don’t want to or can’t explain your decision making process, I won’t harass you about it.
And I fail to see how my position eludes your grasp.
You want me to start from they work for us or skip to the soap opera de jour?

But now that there is something to back it, it seems kind of silly to mock that they've "always wanted it".

Of course they did and he gave "it" to him.
