Did u ? Because it sounds like u did. Sorry. I try to stay away from UT games and this one was a lot of points, to give up. UT, under Barnes, has been known to fall asleep with a big lead. Cost us a few games those first couple of years. That Arkansas game with like a 13 point lead with under 2 minutes left, was the apex of that, imo.I hope that no one bet on the -29.5 spread in this game lol. Just a brutal trash time bucket by FAMU.
I thought Jalen might have a break out year but he is still the sameJalen Johnson baffles me, looks great occasionally, then looks lost and timid, mostly. I keep hearing he has all this talent and I see flashes, but mostly, he continues to disappoints. 2 points, tonight in 10 minutes. Another chance to impress, where Gaines looked better, imo
I hope he develops. he does have the NBA body but he is nowhere near NBA ready. I dont want to see any of our players fail. He just needs to work on his shot, its not that far off.Gaines has a better shot he’s a diamond in the rough for sure. James has a NBA body right now, if he’s coachable and has a good work ethic he will develop into a stud.
Probably, but we could get away with a lot of Plavsic, Fulk, ON and Walker there, playing different 4/5 combos. Pons may be a better option at the 4 as a senior than Walker as a freshman, the more I think about it. Look, what did I really say in this post ? Not much, where's @IndianapolisVol at, to give me hell ?Roster would seem more needed at the 4 again

Not sure how...
If Walker is 6’8” as listed, you essentially add 2 bodies to the 4/5 spots all 6’8” or taller.
Uros, Pember, Fulkerson, ORN, Walker...
I mean the guards will have depth, but losing Bowden and Turner I expect we’ll see Pons used more as a 3rd guard and not playing the 4 as much. Unless some of these young guards are really good. Bailey also will be eligible, should be a VERY fun season.
Lose no posts, add Walker and Uros....lost 2 guards, but add Bailey, Vescovi, Springer and Johnson.
Sickness for sure, just think unless Jalen does something this season Barnes will want that experience Pons has on the court with the youthful guards.
If Vescovi gets eligible & plays quality minutes this season he might feel comfortable with James/Vescovi running point. And roll in Gaines/Bailey/Springer/Johnson to play the 2/3 and keep Pons at the 4.
I just think you’ll wanna have 2 bigs on the court as much as possible if you have the bodies to do it.
If Pons keeps giving 13ppg 6rpg and leading the league in BPG I’m not sure how much more you could ask from a “big”?
They are almost interchangeable, but I think Barnes' wants James as a point-forward, so that makes Pons a 4, imoSo he can’t do that as a 3?
James is out rebounding him and the same height should he be moved to the 4 now. You can just say “I’d rather Pons stay at the 4” you’re welcome to prefer him at that spot. I just like the potential to have more size on the court and think Pons sliding back to the 3 allows that to happen while keeping his production in the lineup.
I think he is better there, that’s my reasoning...his ball handling and shooting are still not where they need to be to play more of a perimeter spot imo. If he continues to improve that area hen maybe, at worst he’s a guy that can probably play either spot, I just think he’s been much better at the 4So he can’t do that as a 3?
