Our QB room will be the best in the SEC

Never said D1, your reading comprehension must have been around a 16 on the ol ACT test.
No hold on man! You started this! Maurers receivers had no offers going into 2018. Yet YOU claim he was playing with college caliber receivers as Bailey is. And the best they got after was d2. You brought it up to make HB look better than Maurer. Given Maurer put up better numbers than HB without the help you opened this can of worms.

Told you lol he's special

this upcoming Spring. We will have a veteran 3rd year starter, who while inconsistent, has proven to be a serviceable SEC starter ranking in the upper tier of all returning SEC QBs, we will have Blue Chip Fr Harrison Bailey, our highest acclaimed QB recruit since Peyton, Brian Maurer who has flashed well at times and seems to have the capabilities to be an SEC starter at QB, Big JT who is as physically gifted as anyone at the position with his prototypical size and cannon type arm strength and walkon Hill who has more experience than all other backups combined.

Guarantano, Bailey, Maurer, Hill, Shrout in my opinion will be the best QB group in the SEC come SPRING practice!

Pruitt will have his hands full keeping that group together past spring practice, but if he does then the next 3-4 seasons should be fun.

On another note, we could also have the best OL group, LB group and secondary in the SEC in '20 as well. Pruitt has really turned the roster over going into his 3rd year.

was just posting about this... DL, Corners and RB will be deep too. Tons of experience there. Gooden and Savion will be back healthy. Thompson and Taylor will be Juniors and we will have Chandler, Jordan and Gray back...

Banks will probably be back too

LoL, that game was never in doubt and never competitive. It was a clear case of a high school team emptying their bench in the 4th quarter because they were clearly the better team. And one offs are weak arguments, how many state champions out of Maurers district the last 40 years?
It takes an entire team to win a state title! Not just one player. This isn’t peewee. What I can tell you is Westport had the #1 scoring offense in 2018. And Florida Hs football is a different beast than here in Georgia. Edgewater being ranked 71 to Merriettas 23 should tell you that if nothing else.

Let's flip the narrative. I don't mean to trash our QBs, but JG has been wildly inconsistent, Maurer didn't finish a game, and Shrout can't find the field. Outside of Vandy and Arkansas, can you tell me anywhere our QBs would be starting in the SEC?
Have you looked around the SEC, you act like these coaches don't want a veteran QB and had rather take their chances with a young QB. And you can't state where else would he start as each situation is static and circumstances change each year. However I believe that had he went as a Freshman and avoided injuries he would be the starting QB at Mizz, USCjrs, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Miss St, Ole Miss, Arkansas. He also would have had a chance at both Texas A&M and Florida had he gone as a Freshman. So counting Tn I believe he would be the starting QB currently at 8 SEC schools at least and a shot at possibly 10 of the 14 schools.

I didn't call you a NegaVol, but ok
I'm still waiting on an answer. Where outside of Vandy and Arkansas do you think any of our QBs would've started this year? And that's not a given. JG couldn't even lock down the UT job, Maurer didn't finish a game, and Shrout played sparingly. Hill isn't the answer and Bailey hasn't taken a snap. How is this the best QB room in the SEC this SPRING?

I think Maurer sees the writing on the wall, and so do I.
The only ones TRYING to write on that wall is you, K town and lexkyvol. So let me ask you..... do you really think he sees it? If you’re truly a vol fan you better HOPE it doesn’t come down to him transferring. YOU may not think he has opportunity to play against UT but I assure he does.

I don't care where or who was offered in 18. There is an article out and in their '19 preview stating that his HS had college level WRs, not division 1 level but quality recruits. You're his lover and have followed him from day1 and you know exactly where those receivers have committed or who their offers are from. Maurer's high school team has always been crap as has his old district, sadly he never could change them from losers to winners. I don't know many successful SEC QBs that NEVER won anything at high school other than 3rd team All-State.

2019 preview, interesting did Maurer take a snap for West Port this season? And please show the article, if you can't then stop showing your ignorance and stop

LoL, if you can assure that he does then it means you have knowledge that another team in the SEC or on our schedule has shown interest either to you or him. Since you are his handler I'm sure you are aware of how big a violation that is to NCAA rules.

I answered, he would likely be starting at 8 SEC schools, possibly 10. It is impossible to argue a what if though.

Don’t be an idiot and avoid my point. If they had NO OFFERS as of 2018 that MUST mean that Maurer made his TEAM better and HIS play provided them the opportunity to go to college! He had one game totaling over 700 yards of accounted for offense. He had another where 4..... yes FOUR receivers had over 100 yds receiving and nearly did it twice. And that was against FLORIDA talent.

Last I checked qbs don’t play defense. If he lead the states #1 scoring offense but his defense allowed 45 points a game ave how can your point of not winning be valid?

Shrout and or Mauer will transfer after spring. Depends on depth chart positioning.

I hate how some fans genuinely expect Bailey to get here and dominate the SEC the day he steps on campus and when he doesn't' they'll be chanting "what's wrong with him? He needs to transfer...hes a bust."

He can still be a great QB, be a future 1st round pick, lead our program back on top, and not be ready year one. Heck, even year two...Trevor Lawrence, Tua, and Fromm's successes with their programs have jaded our thinking into expecting his career here will be the same as those others.....

Get the kid on campus. Coach him up and get him better. Teach him how to lead a team. Let him carve his own path.

It's the dumbest thing you've ever said in defense of Maurer.
Right handed qb rolling full speed to his left, throwing on the run 50 yds downfield in stride to a streaking WR down the left sideline is dumb? Naw man.... sorry. None of your boys make that throw.
